Day Thirty-seven - Tuesday
It must have been cold during the night. Sue and I were both under the covers, but she was lying on top of me with her head on my chest, her big bosom squashed into my stomach, with her body and legs between mine. She was snoring. It was a light quiet snore, but snoring nevertheless.
My bladder was full and Sue's weight was pressing on it. I bent up and kissed her forehead softly. She gave "hmmmmm" and didn't seem to want to move.
"Sue, honey, I have to go to the bathroom. Let me up."
She raised her head, eyeing me groggily, then rolled onto her back. I got up quickly stood over the commode and let go with a fast full stream. It seemed that I was only half done when Sue came into the bathroom with her legs together and her hand acting like it was trying to cork herself.
"Hurry, I have to go bad, please?"
I forced out the last of my pee and moved aside closing the seat. Sue plopped down, and you could hear a stream as forceful as mine, while she had her pee.
I stepped into the shower and started the water. A couple of seconds later, Sue came in with me. We washed each other without too much groping, then dried and dressed, ready for the day. We made coffee and mixed up some biscuits, thinking it would be a nice way to start the day.
I turned on the patio light at six-thirty. By six-forty the entire crew was drinking coffee and joking amongst themselves. At six-fifty, Tom, Al, and their wives came to the patio with cups of coffee in their hands.
Betty said, "Thanks, Shawna, for inviting us to your coffee club in the morning. This is a great way to start the day." The wives were wearing some revealing robes, but not as daring as they had before.
We drank coffee and cleaned up all the biscuits by seven fifteen, which became the magic time for us to head out for our day. At the shop, Abe immediately had Tom and Al on two separate jobs, while he finished working on the generator itself. Later that morning I heard the generator fire up, cough and choke a little, then smooth out, running like new.
Sue and I dove into measuring and cutting two frames. We had them both cut, bent, and tacked before lunch, and finished up double checking everything before we went to the little Greek restaurant to eat.
After lunch, we did the dual-welding trick, then cleaned up and drilled the two frames by three. These took longer, for whatever reason. We were probably distracted by the electrician and plumber in the new bay.
I had called the Lakeland team owner to let him know the frames would be ready by three. He said he would be there with a check. The owner and a crew chief rolled up with his trailer at three fifteen. When we loaded the two frames, the owner saw the one from yesterday and asked about it. I showed him the sheet metal, saying that we were going to experiment with making panels too. He was very interested. I told him we were probably going to move the shop soon, so we may wait to work on the panels till we got moved.
Sue went to the truck and brought back a hand full of cards saying that since we were going to be manufacturing full time, we were going to need more customers. He laughed, "How in the world are you going to produce that much more when you can only possibly do perhaps six to eight a week."
Sue said, "Watch us, we are training and teaching right now. Steve is the best teacher I've ever seen. Don't worry about quantity and quality. Steve will have people putting out more perfect work that you could imagine.
"How about I take along the extra frame. I could use it, but I still want the other four for other cars we are going to build." When I nodded, he went out to get his checkbook and I made up another receipt for him and helped his crew chief load it onto the now full trailer.
Sue took off to deposit the checks while I measured and cut two more sets, ready to bend and start tacking. At five I told everyone it was time. Abe said he probably wouldn't need Tom tomorrow but he would like to use Al to clean up the side panels and help him paint. I said that would be good so Tom could work with me on the frames.
Shawna was responsible for supper tonight and had a giant meatloaf with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. Supper was a treat, with everyone showering Shawna with praise.
After supper, we cleaned up and dressed to ride. I pulled out the big bike instead of the good looking one, saying tonight was to ride, not to show off. Charlie said, let's go to Plant City. They have a bike night on Tuesday that is fun to go to. We cut over to I-275, traveled to I-4, then went west cruising within the 70-mph speed limit. It was a nice ride, complete with some good rock and roll on the big bike's radio.
With the windshield, Sue and I could carry on a close to normal conversation. She was saying that she was going to take tomorrow and work with the two girls. I thought that would be great because I wanted to spend the day teaching Tom to weld and clean the frames.
We met a bunch of different folks, plus saw several we knew. Many asked where the sexy bike was. I told them that it was for special occasions and I was going to keep the miles down on it.
At nine forty-five, we headed back to Tampa, again at a nice moderate pace, enjoying the ride. Back in the park, we said goodnight, then Sue and I did our walk and swim, ending up fooling around in the hot tub.
We continued playing with each other in bed, creating wet spots, putting each other to sleep in the best way known to mankind.
