Chapter 16

Day Sixteen - Tuesday

My eyes opened at 6:00. I knew this because I could see the clock from between to nice looking nipples. My face was full of Denise hair and she was lying at an angle from me with her head on my shoulder. I think I liked waking with my face buried in boobies better.

I eased out of bed hopefully not disturbing the sleeping beauty, peed, then started coffee in the big pot, putting on the minimum, shorts and T-shirt. Being as quiet as possible I opened the door to the fresh morning air. I could see a half dozen squirrels chasing each other or eating, lots of birds landing on the ground, poking their beaks into the grass for bugs or worms.

Hearing the pot make those bubbling noises, I went into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. A sleepy, nude Denise came stumbling out of the bedroom and hugged me. She kissed me then told me I was nuts for getting up this early. I told her to go back to bed but she said she wanted to get on the same schedule that I was on. With some clothes and a fresh cup of coffee in her hands she said, "I've seen what goes on around here if I'm not up yet."

I chuckled at her comment as Glenda made her way across the yard coffee cup in hand. She sat down and said good morning then we watched Martin taking the same path that Glenda had taken carrying a cup in his hand.

"Now that the meeting is called to order," I began causing the other three to laugh.

"We need more people," said Denise surprising me. "I love these impromptu get togethers of the neighborhood in the morning or evening or whenever someone's here. It's very friendly, homey."

"Who said we need more people," came from Shawna dressed in her usual extremely thin giant T-shirt displaying her hard little nipples and a hint of the red fur at the top of her legs.

"I did," said Denise. "These are some good times with everyone sitting around starting their day with each other."

"Well two more friends are moving in this weekend. We'll probably have to make an engraved invitation to get them out of bed this early," Shawna proclaimed.

Charlie came up to the table kind of bleary eyed and sat. He raised his cup to take a drink, did it a second time, then looked into it and said, "shit I didn't put any coffee in there."

Before I could reach for his cup, Denise was up, in and out of the trailer with the big coffeepot. She poured everyone more coffee then went back inside. I could hear her making more coffee. When she came out she sat on my lap and curled up tucking her legs under her.

Denise wasn't very big except for her tits. She was very short, just a tad overweight but a big soft double D on top. I'm not real big, not as big as Charlie is, but Denise actually felt small, like a little kid curled up in my lap. I felt protective and had to analyze how I really felt about this girl.

Charlie and Shawna described Jim and Hanna to everyone. We discussed them at length then I asked about the other neighbors that I never saw. Glenda and Martin knew everyone. They said that there really wasn't anyone else on our lane that was good for our group.

Martin pointed through the back and said, "we need to get Tiny and Ruth to come over in the mornings. I know they get up early. They would be fun at night, as I know they drink as much beer as we do.

"Good idea," Glenda said getting up.

Even though Glenda only had on a robe over her nightgown she walked between trailers at our back out of sight. A couple of minutes later, Glenda came back with a couple with coffee cups in their hands. The guy was another giant, probably near six ten, but big all over. The lady was average size, probably five foot five but looked like she had the air of a snob.

Glenda brought them onto the patio and introduced everyone. We were able to get them seated up at the big table when the prim looking lady that was snobbish looking said, "Glenda, you shouldn't bring my Tiny over here when you have this cute little red head showing her pussy and this big titted lady on Steve's lap."

I busted up laughing. No one was catching how funny it was except Tiny. He said, "It is funny isn't it. You look at her and just know she's gonna fuck with you for spitting on the sidewalk. Then she walks up and asks how's it hangin' buddy. Let me tell you, there isn't a normal pussy hair on her cunt."

Charlie was about to fall out of his chair he was laughing so hard. I could feel Denise laughing too. Shawna pulled down her shirt but Ruth told her to let it breath and pulled up her night gown to flash an almost bare pussy to the rest of us. Tiny just smiled and shook his head.

Denise spoke up, "now that's what I'm talkin' about. I like you Ruth, you too Tiny but we need lots more people to come get our day started together. If I have to get up with this nut at the crack of dawn, I want to be entertained."

Tiny said, "amen." Everyone else agreed. We finished another pot then Charlie and Shawna said they had to go to work. Tiny said he had to leave to. Ruth said she best go with Tiny to make sure he puts his shoes on the right feet.

I asked Tiny and Ruth if they could see the patio from their house. Ruth said her kitchen window had a straight view of the patio. I told her she was welcome anytime she saw someone sitting out here and even when there wasn't anyone out here but she wouldn't be able to get any coffee or beer if no one were here. Both of them said they would watch for us.

Glenda smiled at Denise, "is that what you wanted?"

"Yes ma'am, lots of folks like that. I just love close communities. This is perfect."

Glenda said she would look around and tell Ruth to keep new people in mind. She did caution Denise by saying that we only had ten chairs around tables and only eight other lawn chairs for people to sit.

Denise got up to get Glenda, Martin and I more coffee. At that second a sheriff's deputy car pulled up. The officer that had come out for every one of the incidents got out of his car and came over to the patio carrying a box.

Denise came out of the house with the coffeepot asking the deputy if he wanted coffee. He couldn't take his eyes off Denise and actually stuttered while answering her. She went into the house, which broke his trans.

"Steve, here are all your guns," the deputy said. "The coroner doesn't need them any more so he released them. There is a shotgun and two Mac-tens here that were not stolen. They must belong to you as everything else those guys had, was stolen. If you don't want them, I'll take them back, but you know what a hassle that would be."

I grinned and took the box taking it in the house as Denise was coming out.

Denise had convinced Deputy Darrel Young to sit with us and drink a cup of coffee. Denise was all hyper giving off magnetic attractions to the deputy as much as he was blasting her with pheromones. They were actually fixed on each other.

The deputy got a call on his little portable and said he had to go. I asked him for several of his cards so the neighbors could call him when they needed. He just gave me all he had, smiled at Denise and said he had to go.

Denise sat there watching him leave then staring down the road in the direction he left. Glenda noticed it too, winked at me then shrugged her shoulders.

Martin said he had some things to do so he left. Glenda said she was going to go to the pool in a while so she got up. I cleaned up the tables then put the cups in the sink to wash leaving Denise staring down the road.

Denise came in and sat on the couch. She looked like she was going to burst.

"That guy wound your clock huh?" I asked knowing the answer.

"Oh Steve, this isn't nice but I can't tell you what happened out there, what kind of feeling passed between us and we never talked. I'm a little confused because you make me feel so comfortable but so good too. No one has ever done to me what you have done."

She hung her head a second then said, "but I think he gonna do it."

I smiled at her and sat down then hugged her. Holding her in a comforting way, not a "I want sex" way.

"You know, I'd tell you to check out my room mate but you two wouldn't fit. You and I were almost there, I was almost gonna set my sights on you, then a freakin' deputy sheriff comes into my life. What the fuck is this all about."

Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out one of his cards and handed it her. She took it and stared at it, memorizing it. She looked at me and whispered, "thanks Steve, I really, really do love you, you're the best."

"Let's get going. You work today and I have lots to do," I lied. "He probably gets off at three-thirty so make sure you call him at that time. He'll probably be in the station. He'll probably ask you out so you won't have to be as forward as you're willing to be."

Denise just nodded then got up and gathered her stuff including her shack pack. Oh well, easy come, easy go. I hope this one has a good ending.

We drove into town where I let Denise off at her apartment. She kissed me thanking me again for fixing her car and for understanding her feeling for the cop.

I drove back home to get myself organized. I took my new yellow pages and looked up several other outdoor power companies. I made a list of portable generator sales companies as well as those that handled mobile compressors. I had an idea of how to keep Abe busy. I would bet that the companies that performed service often became overly busy. We could sub out some of the work from them.

Somehow I really didn't think we would have to sub out much stuff.

I took my list then went down to the shop. Abe wasn't there so I just hooked up the other generator to the pickup then drove down to the supply house with it. I parked it set the brakes then turned in the keys to the counter guy saying I would be back in an hour with the compressor.

When I parked the compressor, I noticed the generator that I had just brought in and had not even been paid for was gone. When I went inside the owner was standing there with a check. He said here is the ten grand for both of those units. I've already sold both generators and I have a guy on his way for the compressor. Bring me some more.

I took the check and deposited it getting a two thousand dollar cashiers check. I drove over to Abe's house, finding it by luck. Alice answered the door when I knocked and hollered for Abe. He came to the door and invited me in. We chatted for a minute then I indicated to him that I wanted to talk privately to him. We went out in the back yard so he could show me his garden. There I handed him the two-thousand-dollar check.

Abe said he had separated the stuff in the storage area into three piles. Excess welding equipment, excess supplies and unneeded equipment that we didn't have a use for. I thanked him for all his efforts and he said I was thanking him for greater than he could ever imagine.

I drove down to the shop and loaded all the excess welding equipment and the excess supplies into the truck. I drove to the supply house, got the boss and said this should be the last of it. If he wanted it fine, if not I would go to the next place. He said he would take it all then figured for a few minutes. He started to say thirty-three but changed his mind and said forty-one hundred. I thought that was perfect. We unloaded the equipment then I headed back to the shop to pick the outdoor equipment.

It took me three places to get decent prices from everything. Most of the shops didn't deal in used equipment since it was pretty cheap and most of time, used stuff was not in good condition. One older guy recognized that every tool had been worked over and reconditioned. I asked the guy if he needed a sub for his service. He said sometimes and took my number.

I took that guy's twenty-eight hundred and the supply house's forty-one hundred then went to the bank depositing everything except thirteen hundred and eighty dollars. I drove the check by Abe's. He was in his front yard when I came by. I thought he would cry as he said he was just about there to get Alice's car. I asked how much he need and he said about eleven hundred. I made him figure it out exactly then wrote him a check for the next highest even number and that was twelve hundred.

I drove him to the dealership where he had picked out the car. Before he signed the deal I argued a little with the salesman and demanded to see the sales manager or owner right then.

An older gentle came out of an office and asked to help. The whiny salesman started yakking but I waved him off and gently pushed the guy toward the office he came out of. I told him my friend was buying a car for his wife with money he had worked hard for and saved. I had loaned him the last twelve hundred dollars but the man would feel pressure owing me money. I proposed to pay the dealership that twelve hundred so the man could buy the car cheaper and not feel obligated to me.

The dealer went out and got the deal from the salesman. He called the sales manager who came into the office. The two had a fairly heated discussion then he told him to go back to the floor. He came to me and said that he was embarrassed to tell me that my friend had been taken advantage of because it was a gift for his wife. He said he felt the total overcharges were about three thousand dollars. If my friend would accept a deal for four thousand less than the original contract, he would feel much better.

I called Abe into the room and explained everything to him. He was almost crying he was so happy. He handed my check back then almost hugged the dealer. We made the deal, Abe wrote his check and he drove his new car home free and clear to surprise his wife. The best part about it was Abe still had a few bucks left over for his next surprise.

My day was done as far as I was concerned. It had been pretty good. I was almost even for money I had spent at the auction if I included the money I made from Dell and the club. I was still money way ahead as I had a bunch of equipment and shop full of tools and a plan to make some more.

I went by the shop to ask Charlie and Shawna what they wanted for supper. Jan said they had taken off early, as there wasn't any pressing work. She asked me to come into the office. First she handed me a list of four people that she said needed welding done. Next she gave me two names and telephone numbers.

"Steve, I showed the frame to both of these guys and they fell in love with your work. These guys build racecars and have to have precise measurements. Their current frame maker is charging them a bundle but his work is shoddy and some of the finished product won't pass a tech inspection. I told them how exacting you are about materials and blueprints. All that did was excite them more, so give them a call. Every frame you make should be worth way over five grand. And they are done with regular easy to work with steel. Talk to them.

She gave me a hug saying she still owed me a roll in the hay one of these days. I just laughed and went home. I drove up to my trailer as Charlie was carrying a box to his new place. Instead of parking in my driveway, I pulled the truck over to Charlie and Shawna's old trailer. I went in and asked Shawna what was going next. She came out of the back and said there was a bunch of boxes ready to carry over. I started hauling them out to the truck. She stopped me after about eight boxes and asked how I could get them over there that fast. I explained about using the truck. She hit her forehead and "duh."

I loaded up the truck then drove to the new trailer. I took a box in and hollered for Charlie. I asked him where to stack them and he said that each box had a room name. He had just finished putting up names on all the rooms.

I looked at my box and it said master. I took it in the big bedroom and put the box against a bare wall. I hauled all the boxes in then drove back to the old place and did it again. About ten, when I went to get more stuff, Shawna said it was all done. All she had to do was to clean it up and they would be out of there.

Charlie came from down the hall with a bucket and sponge in his hands saying that was done and that he was starved. I said that I had a bunch of microwave dinners and to come over and pick one out. I would make them salads so they could relax and have a beer.

I took my truck and parked in the driveway then went in to make the salads. Shawna came in and got some beer from the fridge then went back out. I took the salads out and told both of them to go in and pick out a dinner and to start one in the microwave. They went in and then after hearing the microwave start they came back out to eat their salads.

"We have all the big stuff moved but we a lot of little things to do," Charlie complained.

"Remember Charlie," I said, "you have until Saturday sometime to get done. That's over three days."

"You're right Steve, I'm just a worry wort.'

Shawna said, "I can put away everything tomorrow and probably have the fridge cleaned out and the closets moved."

I smiled at them saying, "you know, I can help until you get it done. I bet Glenda would love to help you. I'll ask her if you want."

"I couldn't do that," Shawna said. "We just made up and I don't want to ruin our new relationship. I really like her and hope we can continue to be friends."

"I heard that you little devil. I've watched you do stuff all-day and wanted to be helping you. I didn't want to ask you because I didn't want you to be upset with me. Tomorrow we'll make a big dent in your move."

The microwave dinged so Shawna went in then came out carrying a dinner for Charlie. I heard the microwave running again so I new she was doing one for herself. I went in and got four beers, came back out and passed them around.

"Sure hope those new kids work themselves into our group," Glenda said "they are going to be so busy with a new place, it'll be a week before they get settled enough to visit."

"My ass," said Shawna. "They can come over for coffee the first morning. Denise wants a bunch of folks, she'll have them."

"Speaking of Denise, you going to go get her, it's starting to sprinkle out there now so take your truck."

I must have had a sad look on my face because Glenda saved me, "I think Denise has fallen for a deputy. She about had an orgasm when that guy showed up. He wasn't any better. Steve saw and even got a card of his for her."

Shawna asked, "how do you feel about this Steve? You alright with this."

"Yeah, I'm fine. We weren't joined at the hip and didn't make any promises. I saw the way she felt and encouraged her. Hope it works out for her as she's seems to be a nice girl."

"You sure brought her out of her shell, Steve," Charlie said. "She always gives the cold shoulder to every guy that comes on to her. She took right to you though. Guess I'll have to track down another one for you."

"I am gonna miss waking up on the pillows, they sure were soft," I said wistfully.

"And big," came from Charlie.

They finished up their supper and thanked me. By this time the rain was coming down pretty heavy. Glenda said she was going home before it really poured. Charlie went to lock up the old trailer and Shawna headed to the new one.

I cleaned up and went in. I put a dinner in the microwave for myself, opened another beer then flipped on the TV. I ate, watched the last of the news hearing and seeing weather that looked like it was going to make tomorrow very wet all day.

I went to bed, missing a bedmate. I'd have to think about missing them when they leave if I found a new companion. I didn't have any trouble going to sleep.
