"Hey stud," Susie called out to me as I was leaving the girls' dorm lobby.

"What's happening Susie? "I answered.

"Not my business but one of your addle brained cheerleaders is flying the coup," she said sarcastically.

"Yeah, I heard about it tonight," I said still confused by what had transpired with Misty. "No big deal, I'll live."

"Well I have some good new for you," she said smiling. "The good-looking babe next door, you know the little rich girl cheerleader, Delta? She was all over Misty for stringing you along. She was saying all kinds of real sweet things about you. Look for her, she would be nice company."

"That is good news," I said giving her a hug.

"No sweat, I still owe you for clueing me in on Kenny. He's not as fickle as his sister is. See ya later stud," Susie said heading back to her room.

Friday morning, no Misty or Cherry for breakfast. But Delta and Trish were there. Delta wanted me to go out with them that evening. They wanted to go into town and go to a club. When I told them that my budget couldn't handle heavy partying, Delta told me she would talk to me after breakfast.

When we finished and I headed out, Delta grabbed me and pulled around the side of the entryway of the dinning hall. It was fairly private and hidden from the heavy foot traffic.

Delta turned on her million dollar smile and held my arm, "Chuck, I know you don't have a lot of money and I'm not a gold digger that demands you spend everything on me. I'm lucky, my folks are pretty well off and spoil me. That's why I have a car even though I don't use it much. Listen when I want to take us out, that means I'll take care of what it costs. I won't embarrass you about it or say anything at all. Just come with Trish and me and have fun. Wait till you meet Trish's folks, they make mine look like paupers. Come with us, please?"

"Okay sounds good. I think I'd like to have some fun. Hope you don't mind the face, it's not very pretty," I lamented.

"Don't worry about it. You're a guy and guys do stuff like that all the time. I like what's inside you not the picture on the box," Delta said, giving me a hug.

We walked off to our classes with me thinking that women sure were strange. Half way to my class, Misty waved at me.

"What were you doing with Delta at the dining hall?" Misty asked with a cutting tone.

"Huh?" I said now really confused.

"I saw you two talking outside by the entrance, what were you two doing?" she repeated.

"Well actually she was asking me to go with her and Trish tonight," I said.

"You're going out with Delta?" she asked acting shocked.

"Well since I don't have any plans tonight it sounded like a good idea," I said. "Look I have to get to class, I'll talk to you at lunch."

Misty sputtered a couple of times then just stood there while I walked off to class. Wonder what that was about.

At lunch Delta was there but not Misty. Delta said that she wanted us to leave right after practice and go out to eat first. She said reservations had already been made and that it was a little dressy so I might want to wear a coat and tie. When I started to object, Delta just wagged her finger at me and said, "don't be that way. This is my treat. It will be fun."

On my way to my last class of the day, I saw Misty and Cherry walking with some guy I didn't know. They were both hanging on him pretty tight. That must be the new person of interest.

When I came out of my last class and was on the way to practice, Misty and Cherry hailed me. "Chuck. why don't you go out with Cherry tonight?" Misty said.

I was a little peeved so I said, "would it be a double date with you and your new guy?"

"What do you mean my new guy," she said huffily.

"You know, the guy you have a date with tonight. You know the one you had plans for tonight? "I said then had an inspiration, "you know Misty, the guy that you had breakfast with today and the guy you two had lunch with just a little while ago."

"Are you spying on me now?" she said.

"No Misty, it was just a good guess," I said with sadness in my voice. "I saw you with a guy walking out of the central dining hall and just figured that's where you had been. Look, I don't know what you want with me but I've always been up front and straight with you. I don't like to play games. If you think you have something that you want, go get it but don't act as if you can keep me on the side for whenever you may want to play with me. I get to play too."

Misty had confusion and hurt on her face but Cherry's face said it all. She was red faced, looking down, embarrassed at being caught trying to play both ends.

"Have a good time tonight Misty. I'll see you tomorrow for breakfast or whenever. See ya," I said then went off to practice.

Freaking women. They sure can mess with your head.

I actually got to play during practice. I did some batting practice but that was about it. No games till Monday but we had practice scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.

Back at the dorm I shinned my shoes and cleaned up getting ready for the date with Delta. My suit still fit well and my white shirt was clean and pressed so I was ready. As I walked past Misty's dorm, Susie came out and hollered for me to come in a second. When I got to the door she met me with a red rose with some paper around the bottom. Susie gave me kiss on the cheek and said, "good luck catching that babe, she is nice."

I walked to her dorm and told the desk attendant who I was there for. When Delta came out of the elevator I almost dropped the rose. She was stunning in a simple black dress with spaghetti straps holding it up. The loose bodice seemed to float over her nice chest. She was wearing some really tall high heels making us almost eye to chin instead of me towering over her.

When I extended my hand with the rose she actually gasped. She gave a huge grin then said she would be right back. She went into the elevator and disappeared. The other girls in the lobby were all standing there staring at me. I guess that was a good move. I had to remember to thank Susie.

When Delta came back out of the elevator she gave me a hug but didn't kiss me, as she was all made up with crimson lipstick and all. She had put on a black lace shawl over her shoulders in the event it was chilly out.

We walked out of the Dorm and she headed toward the street. At that split second a black Cadillac limousine pulled up to the curb. The driver jumped out and opened the door for us. Delta got in then scooted over in the seat.

Seeing my surprised expression, Delta asked, "you okay?"

"Just awestruck, I've never been in a limousine before. It's pretty neat," I said with big grin.

Delta held onto my arm while we chatted all the way to the restaurant. Again the driver held the door for me so I got out then gave a hand to Delta then offered her my arm as we went to Maitre D's desk.

Delta whispered in my ear, "just tell them the reservation is for Charles Johnson."

When I gave the information to the head guy, he led us to a secluded table with curtains separating us from foot traffic. It gave the illusion of total privacy. A waiter showed up and said our refreshments would be served with the appropriate foods as they were delivered. Since we were not given menus I was surprised when they delivered a plate of funny looking things with shells. Another waiter came and poured some white looking wine.

"Eat up Chuck, those will be good for you," Delta said.

"Um, Delta, what are they," I asked a little bashful about being ignorant of the food.

"The little ones are snails. I just love those. The big ones you should know what they are, they are oysters," she said.

"Okay, they do look familiar now. The way we eat them is to have a bunch chilled after soaking them for a couple days then we shuck them and eat them out in the yard so we don't make a mess," I said.

Next we were served a salad that was tossed next to the table before being scooped onto a plate. With this we were poured a different kind of white wine.

Delta was having a great time watching my face each time we were served. She could tell I had not witnessed this type of service before.

For our main courses, Delta was served something interesting looking with a good smelling sauce on top. She said it was veal Marsala. They poured her a light pink wine.

The waiter brought me a huge steak, steaming hot, along with a baked potato. The wine guy poured me a large wineglass of red wine.

This was the first good steak I had had since I left home. It was tender and juicy, the way I liked it. Who ever ordered for me did it perfectly.

After our delicious meal, they brought a gooey looking cherry desert that was very odd looking but very good. Neither one of us could eat that much of it but it was very delicious.

When we left, we didn't pay anything or sign anything; we just left, strange. The limo drove up when we came out the door then drove us to a neighboring country club. An attendant opened the limo door for us and again I helped Delta out. We went in and again I was told to tell them the reservations were for Charles Johnson.

This time when I told the guy at the little front desk my name, he smiled very big and asked us to follow him. We walked into a very lavish looking lounge with a restaurant and were led to a table that had Trish and an older couple sitting there.

Trish and the man stood. Trish said, "I wish to present Charles Johnson and of course you know Delta. Chuck, I wish to present my mother, Cecile McPherson and my father George McPherson." I had taken the hand of Trish's Mom and gave her a little bow then I shook hands with her Dad.

"Call me George, can I call you Chuck?" he asked.

"Yes sir, you sure may," I said.

"And you can call me Celle," Trish's Mom said.

"Thank you," I smiled.

"Okay, now that all that formal stuff is done, let's party," Trish said.

George asked, "so this is the guy you went to Florida with on Spring break?"

"Yes Daddy, it is. He's the one I told you about who has played on the football team, the basketball team and now is the shortstop on the baseball team," Trish said proudly.

"So you're quite the athlete and dating my daughter too?" he said seriously.

I was pretty surprised by the remark but noticed Trish acting all proud that this were so. I didn't know I was going out with either one of them since this was actually my first date with Delta.

Celle commented, "isn't it nice the way Trish and Delta enjoy and share everything. You know Chuck, these two have been friends since before pre-school. If you go out with one, you go out with both."

Delta said while holding my hand, "I don't think Trish and I have really explained our relationship very well to Chuck yet. We are going to have to let him in on it a little at a time so we don't scare him off."

"Don't worry Chuck," George said, "these two have always twisted me and Delta's Dad around their little fingers. Just go along for the ride and I'm sure you will have fun."

"So how did you like the restaurant Chuck?" Celle asked.

"Ah, it was great. The was food delicious," I said.

"Did I order for you okay. Was everything fine?" she asked some more.

"It was great, the steak was perfect," I said.

"Trish tells me your family raises cattle in Florida," George said.

"Yes sir, we have a fairly large operation there. We farm about a thousand acres and run about three hundred head of cattle," I bragged.

"That is a big farm. I'm sure your folks miss your presence on the farm. Every boy in a farm family is important," George commented.

Some music began and Trish wanted the first dance. While we were dancing she explained that Delta was my real date but that she was along for fun too. She told me her Mom and Dad love the idea that she is going out with an athlete with good grades and do not mind that she shares with Delta. I told her I guess I understood but it was all fairly confusing. She just told me to enjoy as her Mom and Dad lived near and loved to entertain her friends.

I danced with Delta who seemed very happy tonight. I danced with Trish's Mom too and was surprised that she danced very close and enjoyed being guided around the dance floor. George danced with both the girls as the night progressed.

About eleven I told the girls that I shouldn't stay up to late as I had practice Saturday and Sunday. They understood and said we would leave right away.

Celle said to me, "would you let my plastic surgeon take a look at your face? He does great things for those who have been injured in car wrecks and the like."

When I hesitated, Trish punched me on the arm. "Thank you Mrs. McPherson I would enjoy having help with this. I am concerned that I will be scary to all my friends."

"Oh shush Chuck." " Celle said, "looks are not that important. Men seem to get beat up in the looks department pretty often. That's why I have a great plastic surgeon to help out putting a face back together."

Delta, Trish and I left in the limo heading back to the dorm. Delta leaned over and said, "I wouldn't let Trish get us a room tonight because I thought you might feel that would be too much all at once. But next time big boy, we are getting a room so we can play."

Trish said, "Well next year is our last year so we might get an apartment. That way we could entertain whenever we wanted."

"Yeah we could," Delta agreed. "But I want to finish with good grades and if we had an apartment we might want to play too much."

"You're probably right Delta," Trish said. "We'll just have to keep studying with Chuck here to make sure we get good grades."

At the dorm I helped both dazzling girls out of the Limo then we all went into their parlor. Their parlor was a little bigger and didn't have the seats arranged as well so there wasn't as much privacy. Even without the privacy some of the couples were almost making love on the couches. The three of us sat together and hugged for a while. Delta whispered in my ear, "I'm really horny and wish we could get together."

Trish must have been able to hear as she added, "if you think you can have him by herself, your nuts. I get to come along for all the fun. I'm horny too."

"Oh my, you two are a guys dream. What in the world are you doing messing around with a freshman. I'm sure you two get many offers every day to go out," I said.

Delta was quick to respond, "not really Chuck. Most guys won't approach us for fear we'll turn them down. You're one of the few guys who aren't dumb around us. You at least talk to us and treat us like the ladies we are not." she was laughing loudly disturbing some of the intimate petting going on.

"Whatever the reason, you have my attention. Just help me keep from drooling and slobbering when I'm around you two," I laughed.

I was rewarded with two very intense, smoldering smiles.

"Well let's meet for breakfast and continue this conversation. The atmosphere around here isn't helping any of our conditions."

I stood, then pulled both the girls to their feet and headed for the door.

I swear one of the couples were actually doing the nasty right out in the open in the parlor.

I gave both the girls a hug and a kiss. They looked at each other and giggled. Trish wrapped her arms around me and gave me a blistering kiss. Then Delta kissed me with lots of tongue causing me to almost cum in my pants. "Night Chuck," they said as they got on the elevator.

As I passed Susie's dorm, the guy who Misty had been walking with was stumbling out the main door with his shirt open, jacket over his shoulder, working on his pants and belt buckle. Susie came to the door and yelled out at him, "If I catch you in one of these dorm rooms again I will have you expelled and arrested."

I had to chuckle, as the girls couldn't get up to their usual stuff with Susie now. She was going to keep them on a short leash.

Saturday morning breakfast was unusually loud and rowdy for our dinning hall. Everyone was in a good mood because it was warming nicely outside and looked like it was going to be a nice day. Delta and Trish said they were going shopping with Trish's Mom and would try to catch up with me in the afternoon or perhaps at supper.

I had practice at nine in the morning. I got to the locker room at eight, dressed in practice clothes then went for a jog around the field to loosen up. By the second lap several guys doing the same thing joined me. The coach started us off with some infield practice rotating to the batting cage. He wasn't using the machine today. The pitchers all took a couple of batters giving medium speed fat pitches down the middle.

The coaches wanted a three-inning scrimmage so he divided us up and let the relief guys do the pitching. For a Saturday morning, it was a spirited practice. A bunch of hard hit grounders came up the middle at me so it made playing that much more fun.

When we were done, he rotated the rest of the reserves in and rested a few of us, including me. When I went toward the dugout, I saw Trish's Dad in the stands. There usually is only a hand full of people who watch baseball practice, especially on Saturday so he was easy to recognize. I caught his eye and we gave each other a wave.

After a two-minute team meeting with instructions to meet at nine Sunday morning, the coach let us go. When I came out of the locker room, George was standing waiting for me, "Come on, let's get some lunch," he said.

He led me to the nearby parking lot where we got in a black two-door Buick hardtop. We went out to his country club and had sandwiches at the outside bar along with a draft for him and a coke for me.

"You're pretty good with a glove," he was saying.

"Okay, I guess. I've been playing a long time," I said.

"So I understand you passed up the baseball draft and a minor league contract," he was digging.

"How could I pass up going to college to play baseball," I answered. "College will help me forever, baseball would be a maybe. I'd get drafted into the military anyway so why not go to school instead of playing ball for a almost a year before going to the army for two years. After the army I might not play as well as I did so it would be a maybe."

"Good thinking," he smiled. "Not many young men think of their future the way you are."

We talked about several topics until he asked if I played golf. When I said that my Dad played but I had not taken the time to learn the game. He invited me to learn the game from him if I wanted. I told him I would get back with him so we could work out a time.

After lunch he took me back to campus where I got my books and went to the library. There were not to many of the regulars there on such a nice day.
