LAST REQUEST
Chapter 1

For the third time in five years, Sally was back in the hospital. She was just 9 years old when they had discovered she had leukemia. After a few months of treatments it had gone into remission and Sally thought she was home free. It returned three years later, but, once again, she had beaten it, but it had been a tough battle and she almost lost it. She was a year recovering after her treatments that time. A year later, just a few months ago, it once again returned with a vengeance.

She had started getting treatments at home with just doctor visits, but her body was so weakened from the last time, that this time they had hospitalized her. She had been in the hospital for almost a month with some good days, mostly some mediocre days, and more bad days then good. Part of her treatments was chemo, which, as anyone knows, results in hair loss. Sally had just begun to grow her hair out after her last relapse and dreamed of having long hair, but it just wasn't going to be. Fortunately she had been able to celebrate her 15th birthday at home, but it had been one of her bad days so there wasn't much celebration.

The worst part about being in the hospital is they had put her in the children's ward. It made her angry to be thought of as a child, but there was one bright light in that darkness. There were both boys and girls in the ward and she had met a boy she liked. His name was Dan and he had been admitted a couple of weeks ago. He was really bad off with some lung problem, Sally wasn't sure what, but he had improved much. The two had hit it off well. He was a year older than her. The two were spending a lot of time together as the rest of the ward was "just children" to them. They were the only 2 older ones.

Most of the time they were in Dan's room because he was more restricted than she, but if she had one of her bad days the nurses would bring him to her room. He seemed to cheer her up; lift her spirits. The two seemed to support each other in a way the medical staff just couldn't.

On this particular day, Sally was in Dan's room and they were talking. Normally the staff wanted doors to be open unless the patient needed privacy, but they let Sally and Dan close the door to keep out the noise of the others and to give them time alone.

"They say I might be able to go home in a few days. I can't wait to get out of here!" Dan said. "...but I'll miss seeing you. Maybe my parents will bring me in so I can visit you," he added.

Sally's heart sunk. She knew that day would be coming, but that fact didn't help. "I'm glad for you," she managed to get out without crying and even sounding a bit happy.

"If this place didn't suck so bad I wish I could stay here. I like being with you," he explained.

"Yeah... Right! Your dream girl... sick, bald, ugly... what more could you ask for," she returned sarcasticly.

"I mean it! You may be sick, but certainly not ugly and I don't care if you're bald. I've never seen you with hair anyway. How should I know if you'd look better with hair? I like the way you look," he answered defensively.

"Thanks for trying to make me feel better, but it won't work. I know I look like hell with no hair," she told him with a tear in her eye. She took the bandana off her head, which she never did when someone was around. "Look at me. I have no hair! I'm bald! Old men are bald and old men don't look 'pretty', they just look old. I wish I looked better for you. I know I'm not pretty." She quickly replaced her bandana.

"Well, I think you're pretty even if you don't think so. You're the nicest girl I have ever met. So what if you're bald. I don't give a damn about that! I just like who you are," he comforted.

"I like you too. I wish we had met under different circumstances, but..." she answered. "I know how I look, but I'm glad you don't care."

Dan paused for a moment trying to find the right words. "Um... Ah... There's something I've always wondered... Do you... Did you... Um... Have you lost all your hair?"

"Isn't it obvious???"Sally snapped. Calming, she added, "You know I did," and looked down at the floor.

"Um... I know you don't have any hair on your head... I didn't mean just there..." Dan stammered.

"Oh..." Now Sally understood and was a bit shocked and embarrassed by his question. She thought for a moment. Like her school friends, Sally had dreamed about laying on her wedding bed and loosing her virginity, but now she wasn't sure if that day would ever come and she wanted to know what it would be like to be with a boy. Sure, she knew any boy would jump at the chance with almost any girl, but she didn't want that either. Dan was different and she liked him a lot.

Sally's problem was how to tell Dan that. She couldn't just ask him such a thing! Sally had always been sort of modest, but there was a time for that and she felt she didn't have much time left.

The hospital didn't like patients being "dressed", but did let Sally wear slacks, as long as they weren't too tight. She could also wear a bra, panties, and, of course, a top. She usually only wore PJ's and a robe, but today she had on of her good days, so had dressed.

Normally she wouldn't dream of being the least bit forward, but she had to somehow let Dan know she was "available", at least for something. Sally stood up, unzipped her pants, and, with her thumbs at the sides, pushed down revealing not only she had no hair there either, but also that she was definitely a girl. She brought her hands to her face. "Does this answer your question?" she mumbled,

Dan's mouth gaped as he not only saw Sally had no pussy hair, but also she had a pussy. She had pulled her pants to her crotch and he could see everything. His face turned bright red. Like any boy, he wanted to see a pussy, but hadn't expected to see Sally's. "I... Um... I didn't mean you had to show me," he stuttered nervously.

"I know... It just seemed easier to show you though," she lied as she pulled her pants back up and sat down again. "You know what they say... a picture is worth a thousand words and I didn't feel like spending the next hour answering you," Sally giggled.

Dan regained his composure. "Well, I guess you don't have to worry about shaving your legs." Both burst out in laughter.

Sally looked at the clock. "Well, pumpkin time. They want me to go to bed early. I have chemo tomorrow and they want me well rested. I probably won't see you tomorrow because of that, but I'll definitely be back the next day. Bye," Sally told him as she stood and walked out of his room.

Once back in her own room Sally was kicking herself for being so stupid as she waited for the drugs to take affect. She didn't know what she was thinking. Why had she pulled her pants down in front of Dan? Nice girls didn't do that, only sluts did. Sure, a lot of boys liked it, but Dan was different.

She thought about the "slut click" at school, a group of girls who liked teasing the boys. One day three of them had worn mini skirts to school with no panties. They would giggle every time they walked up the stairs with a gang of boys following them, knowing the boys could see everything they had. It disgusted her. She hadn't just let Dan see, she had shown him! He probably thought of her as a slut now and never wanted to see her again. Oh well, he'd be leaving in a few days, so it didn't really make much difference she told herself as a tear formed in her eye.
