SUMMARY: Frank Stern is a private investigator and a voyeur. He knew that taking pictures of Claire Ingleford, a well- known actress, while she was sunbathing topless on a beach was risky. He did not foresee all the trouble it would bring him.

COMMENTARY: This is an entertaining read, although if you are looking for stroke fiction then I advise you look elsewhere. For the most part I was not aroused by the sex. One sex scene, in particular, was more touching to me than it was arousing. Maybe I just need to get my pulse checked.

This is a detective story. It is set in southern California. The cast of characters are well drawn. The story unravels at a nice pace.

There are a couple plot lines that seem as though they should have been a bit more fully developed, or given a little less attention. The author brings them in, but then doesn't seem to do much if anything with them.

OBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: 7.0 (out of 10)

  • Arousal: 2/5
  • Editing: 5/5
  • Plot and Characters: 5/5

SUBJECTIVE ANALYSIS: Very Good
