COMMENTARY: What struck me the most about this story is the deception and subterfuge that Bobbie uses to seduce Sara. I was both intrigued and disgusted by it. Their relationship had never been a close one, but that is not an excuse for his actions, specifically rifling through her room when she isn't around.
Morally speaking, I felt that there was something wrong with his justification of the seduction and his methods of gathering information. I would not approve of them in the real world and I do not approve of them in the story. Still, I was sexually aroused by his boldness and the results it produced. There is more to it that just that.
In the back of my mind I kept wondering, how long can he keep the game going? Eventually, she was bound to find out, one way or another, and that led to more questions. How would she find out? What would her reaction be when she did? What impact would dropping the mask have on their relationship? These are the questions that kept running through my head as I read the story.
There is one more detail that bothers me. The fact that Sara doesn't recognize his voice when they meet for the first time. It is Halloween and he is wearing a costume that includes a mask, but I have a hard time believeing that she does not recognize his voice. Of course, given that the story is told by Bobbie, it is possible that she does recognize his voice and he does not pick up on this fact.
Without giving it away I have to say that I think the story ends a bit abruptly. I think it should be a little longer than it is; anywhere from a few paragraphs or a whole page. I can't say anymore without giving the ending away.
Provided the material doesn't bother you morally this story is worth your time. It won second place in the 2002 Literotica Halloween Story Contest. I guess that means that a lot of people liked it more than all but one of the other stories submitted. I don't like all stories that get high marks from readers at Literotica, or even most of them, but this one is deserving of attention.
