COMMENTARY: Katherine has a fling with a co-worker while on a business trip. End of story, right? Wrong. That's where the story begins. What follows is her description of the consequence of her actions, blackmail.

I love a mystery and the author does a wonderful job keeeping the story suspenseful and Katherine's blackmailer anonymous. Who could it be? Ultimately his identity matters less, in my opinion, than the effect he has on her. What he subjects Katherine to both arouses and frightens her. Would the story be the same if his identity was revealed? I don't know. I know that I like this story a lot and strongly recommend that you give it a try.

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING: I think that the story's length works in its favor. It isn't too long. It always seems fresh, never stale or dull.

I originally read this story when it was first posted to ASSM, last summer. My enthusiasm for it, the story that is, has not diminished since then. I'm not sure why it took me so long to get around to writing a spotlight for it.
