COMMENTARY: I really like this story. It isn't perfect, but I really like it. There are both happy and sad parts. Louise has had a rough life. She didn't exactly choose to be an assassin. She doesn't see things the way most people do. Violence is a way of life for her. That sums up most of the sad part, although the author goes into more detail.

Louise's life takes off in a completely different direction after she meets Sara. It is interesting to note that Louise doesn't change as much as her lifestyle does. She is rather set in her ways and isn't completely accepting of Sara's view of the world. Still, she stays with Sara, for whatever reason(s). That makes Louise interesting, in my opinion.

Why do I think that she is interesting? Because she is torn emotionally. I think that it is natural for people to experience mixed emotions. I can relate better to a character that seems torn and conflicted. Such a character is also less predictable, than one that seems to be of a single mind. Predictable characters usually aren't much as much fun as unpredictable ones. This is my round-about way of saying that I think the author has done a great job with the main character.

One final thing: please don't take the story codes too seriously. They are accurate in that all of those things do occur in the story, but there is more to the story than hinted at in the codes. Not all of the violence is decribed in graphic detail. Some is, but not all of it.
