Referee’s decision:

Kenny, didn't manage to keep humour out of his story and I laughed/smiled quite often. He followed all the other rules, but, at least according to my dictionary, was off base with his use of the word fugacious. It was interesting as far as it went, but he was clearly unable to finish the story within the time frame. A good effort though.

Slotty, OTOH , used all the words correctly, and kept to the rules. His story is a very dark one, and very powerful. IMHO , it is the best story he has written, and certainly the best I have seen whilst reffing these duels. It certainly made my eyes wet.

It is unfortunate for Kenny to come up against a story like this, but I'm sure he will be a winner in the future. However, I have no doubt whatsoever that Mr Slot is the Winner of this duel, and he is to be warmly congratulated for writing such a tour de force in such a short time.
