This page is reserved for my thoughts about what's going on, particularly regarding the stories and the nature of fantasy, as well as one's responsibility for one's behavior and its effects on others. These pages are not intended to be an outlet for my philosophy or polemic, but sometimes issues come up and just have to be addressed. Usually, I try to work the theme into a story, but sometimes a more direct statement is required. My personal story themes include a couple that are considered kind of dangerous, "pedo," often extreme, and "inc." Both of these trigger knee-jerk reactions in a lot of people. As often as I restate my position that these stories are fantasies, and not intended to reflect an approach to reality, there are always going to be those who refuse to believe it. I don't worry about those who want to "put a stop to" me and my writings. So Far, the First Amendment still holds force, although Ashcroft and Ridge are working hard to eliminate it. But the ones who scare me are the ones who think it might be a good idea to act out the fantasies that they read or create on these themes. Fantasy should never be acted on. That's why it's fantasy. but when your talking about a scenario that flies in the face of society's values, you've entered a whole new region of pain. We all internalize these values as part of our socialization as children. The people around you will try, with greater or lesser determination, to punish you and those with you for flouting these values, and will ye nil ye, you will help them at least unconsciously. If you and your companions are all adults, hey, that's your lookout. But if there is a child involved, your actions will bring that child to a place of suffering from which there is not always a way to return. It's no good saying that it's the values that are wrong, that society is sick not me, that an enlightened society would not lay such guilt and shame upon children. It doesn't matter where the pain originates, it is you who are bringing it and you know it, when you show up on the doorstep of wounded innocence with your satchel of agony and your disarming smile. If this is you, you deserve the years of your sentence, and you deserve what your outraged fellow inmates will do to you while you serve it. I write these stories to give myself a harmless outlet and I publish them to give one to you. Keep it safe. Keep it loving. Keep it fantasy.
