Welcome Home

Welcome Home is the second of the Jenny Trilogy stories, the first and third of which is Meeting Her and Do You Want To Continue? respectively.  I have to warn you - this one ends a little abruptly.  It's still a complete story, as is, but I would have written more.  You see, this is what happens when you allow the person who figures prominently in the story to read a draft and then not like it.  Great sucking sounds of creativity being voided into nothingness follows and the story is ended at that point.  Have I mentioned that in many respects, Jenny could be quite the bitch?

She thought the ending torment (which was supposed to be the middle torment, had the story continued), was ridiculous.  That bodes well for the writer's ego, being told something you've written is ridiculous.  Personally, I thought the idea quite creative and novel.  But, like ice cream in August, once the idea has melted and is lying in a sticky pool on the sidewalk, you're never getting it back.  Leave it for the birds.

So, that said, Welcome Home actually lays the groundwork for Do You Want To Continue?  We meet Teri and Dawn for the first time, establish how Toran got so filthy rich, and manage to fill a silo with corn (oops, just gave away the ending...)  By the way, the bit about my uncle is true - he hasn't passed, God bless him, but he did sell quite a bit of the Milwaukee skyline.
