No Joke

No Joke is really one of those short, (really short in this case), nonsensical stories that started as a strong image in my head and really didn't flesh out from there. Two elements came into play here: first and foremost is the reference to Deliverance, the movie that defined male rape for all ages. The second has to do with my mind's solution to dealing with a co-worker who talks incessantly and never, ever shuts up. Her name, of course, is Sharon. If you've ever had to do anything creative (in my case, design and engineering) in a loud environment you know how little noise it takes to really and truly piss you off. I'd love to see ball-gags in the workplace. No joke.
