Just Five Minutes

Anyone reading Just Five Minutes and a few others, like Bunny Cage and Her Gift, would naturally be hesitant to go out with me on a date. Or at least would balk when I asked her to slip on a pair of handcuffs. Another button of mine - the first date bondage story. This was the first of this kind of story that I wrote and is still one of my favorites. What I like about Just Five Minutes is the interaction between unsuspecting girlfriend and the reader, reading the story in first person perspective. First person is a neat angle to use and one that I like - if you relate to some of the things the protagonist is telling you, by way of direct link to his brain, then you are moving along at the clip that the story is moving at, because that guy could be you. But if you are at odds with the protagonist's mindset you get double the fun - first, you get the story, told through his eyes, but second, you get access to something that is foreign to you. A different perspective.
I was surprised how many responses I got from women when I posted this in the newsies. Almost all of them related to the woman in the story - and that kind of floored me. I had just got done writing something that is so male oriented it approaches male chauvinism and I was getting positive feedback from the one group I thought was going to flay me alive.
One other note: the heroine of this story could be the sister of the heroine in The Rope. I love that character very much, the fiery, female, fighting and clawing and scratching against overwhelming situations with maybe a few cuss words thrown in for good measure. Yeah, I know - male fantasy personification of the ultimate heroine. Guilty as charged. Whatareyagonnado?
Enjoy!
