Summary: In the ALL NEW 17th episode of 'Scent of a Girl: Beginnings', the schools most hated twosome, Selena Simerson and Misti Grider, discover some secrets about one another that one of the two takes MAJOR exception to. All of this in the midst of a brawl started by Selena's bullying of Mindy and her friend. And joined by an enraged Maxie.

"Well I think you know enough to fake your way through," Chloe said just as we had gotten done dancing. Her teaching me that is. "Mindy will know you're not great at it but at least you can make her happy."

"I hope so," I said as I sat down in the desk chair across from Cally as she lounged on her bed.

"You still move like a three legged moose," Cindy said from the floor as her and Shelby played 'Monster Slayer'.

"Very funny Icey," I said as she stuck out her tongue.

"Leave her alone," Chloe said as I smiled at her. "She's doing a lot more for her girlfriend than most people would."

"Where is Mindy?" Cally asked.

"Working the corner," Cindy said as everyone laughed.

"She's down the hall with Patty Peterson studying," I corrected Cindy.

"Speaking where people are, what about Maxie?" Shelby asked.

"She broke up with Cally," Cindy said as she paused the game. "I haven't seen her since then."

"Me either," I said. "But I know she's been at school."

"Why did you break up?" Chloe asked. "Maxie seems so nice."

"Maxie's a druggie now," I said. "Lisa said she found powder on the sink Maxie was using in the bathroom. I'm pretty sure she was high when broke up with me."

"She didn't seem high when she came over later that morning," Chloe said.

"I don't know," I said. "And I'm done with worrying about her. She's gonna end up dead and I'm not being responsible."

"Is she still a member of the Mintz?"

"I guess," I said. "Just because we broke up doesn't mean she's out."

"What are the Mintz?" Shelby asked. I took the lead and explained. "So you have to fuck your way in?"

"Kind of..." Cally started to say.

"That means I'm not a member yet," Chloe worried a loud. "You guys gonna stop looking out for me?"

"Why don't you do what you said and get some off Max," Cindy suggested. "I don't think you're gonna get in anyones way now."

"I don't know..." Chloe started to say.

"If you want her you can have her," I said to Chloe.

"Hey I wanna be in too," Shelby said as her and Cindy paused the game.

"Then after everyone leaves tonight you come by and see me," Cally said as she grinned at Shelby. Who for her part never blushed or looked away as she simply smiled directly at Cally.

"You might as well get it on now cause you sure ain't no help on this game," Cindy said to Shelby. "Can you do anything right?"

"You can't get do it either," Shelby fired back. "How long you been stuck on level 14?"

"About two months," Cally said as everyone laughed.

"It's hard," Cindy said. "All those ugly Misti looking things come at you at once."

"Oh damn, let me tell you what Mindy and I found out about Misti," I said as everyone listened intently as I repeated what Lia (Misti's ex) had told us just a couple of days earlier.

"So Misti was a lesbian and that got her sent here?" Chloe asked as I nodded. "I see why having horrible parents would drive you to be an ass."

"I can to actually," I agreed and nearly jumped out of my skin when the door flew open and Mindy appeared and said in a panic, "Maxie's fighting with Selena."

"What? Why?" I asked as Mindy ran to me and hugged me on instinct as Cally and Cindy jumped up and ran off down the hall.

"Patty was walking with me back from the snack machines when Selena started," Mindy said in a ramble. "She knocked Patty down and I ran off to get help when Maxie came in and went after Selena."

I made sure Mindy stayed with Chloe as I chased after Cindy and Cally and found them trying to break up a serious cat fight with Maxie and Selena. Both were screaming as they pulled each others hair and swung wildly at the other. Patty lay slumped in the corner covering up and obviously scared out of her mind. Cally managed to pull Maxie off to seperate them when Selena jumped back and realized she was seriously out numbered.

"Knock it off," Cindy barked as she stood between the two of them and I knelt down to check on Patty.

"Your whore girlfriend jumped me from behind like a coward," Selena said as she was backed up.

"You attacked someone whose defenseless you psycho bitch," Maxie raged back as she tried to get past Cally. "Mindy and Patty won't fight and you know that so you started on them. Let me go, I wanna teach her a lesson."

"Are you OK?" I asked below all the screaming as Patty scooted back into my arms for protection.

"FUCK YOU," Selena screamed at Maxie and then looking to Cindy said, "You all think you're so special because you're a fag group. I got news for you some of us are disgusted by it..."

"STOP IT!" Misti screamed as she came rumbling down the steps to Selena's defense. Pushing by Cally and jumping in front of her friend as I helped Patty to her feet. "What the fuck is going on?"

"Yeah like you didn't put her up to this," Cally said to Misti. A door opening at the bottom of the stairs and a head popping out to see what was going on but I couldn't quite see who it was.

"I don't know anything," Misti said. "I just got back from the library and heard the screaming and someone said that Selena came in here and a fight broke out."

"Blondy's retarded sister and her mouthy friend over their started on me and I showed them I don't take shit from faggots," Selena said.

"We didn't say anything to you..." Patty tried to say but was drowned out by Cindy's screaming at Selena, "ONE MORE WORD! ONE MORE WORD AND I SWEAR TO GOD I'LL HURT YOU."

"Shut up," Misti said to Selena. "Let's just go before they do jump us."

"I am not afraid of those fags," Selena said as Cindy clenched her fists and was ready to fight. When everything kind of froze as Lisa came into the building through the side exit at the bottom of the stairs and came up, blissfully unaware. But seeing Patty huddled beside me she looked around for a moment and then ran to her friends side and asked, "What happened?"

"Fat psycho bitch jumped her and Mindy for no reason," Maxie said as Cally still held her back.

"You?" Lisa asked as she pointed at Selena. "You jumped her?"

"It was a misunderstanding," Misti said as Lisa marched towards the two of them. "Stop it's over."

"Everyone in this school hates you two and I'm not gonna let you hurt my girl and get away with it," Lisa said in a rage as she drilled Misti in the stomach and then pushed her violently against the wall. Selena reached for her friend but was met by an open hand slap that had to rattle her teeth. It did though knock her to the floor as she covered up and was saved when Patty ran over and pulled Lisa off before she could do any serious damage.

"It's over, it's over," Patty kept saying as she pulled Lisa away and down the steps to safety.

"Come on Max, it's over," Cally said as she led her away and surprisingly Maxie went without much protest.

"Cindy, calm down," I said as I got in front of her. "It's over, calm down?"

"Yeah you're right," Cindy said as she turned and walked off to the top of the second flight as Selena got to her feet holding her jaw.

"I think that bitch broke my jaw," Selena said as I looked down the steps and saw to my shock that the girl in the doorway earlier was, Lia, Misti's ex, who was now coming up the steps and staring in shock at what she had just seen.

"I tried to calm it down but you refused to shut your big mouth," Misti said to Selena.

"Something I learned from you Misti Mae," Selena said. "I thought you weren't afraid of Cally?"

"I had a change of heart when the school threatened to kick me out," Misti said. "My only other option is Military school or my Grandma's in Pigpen, Kentucky."

"Misti?" Lia asked to get her attention. The look on Misti's face when she turned and saw Lia was one of shock.

"Lia?" Misti asked. "Lia what the hell are you doing here?"

"I faked a depression to force my parents to send me here so I could be with you," Lia said. That moment seemed to take the air of the room. So did the arrival of Mindy who came running around the corner and slowed as she saw me. Coming down the steps nervously and hugging me protectively.

"What's going on you didn't come back?" Mindy whispered as she saw Lia for the first time and seemed to clue into the situation.

The mounting tension in the room was eased only for a moment as everyone searched for something to say. Misti looked at her EX in a state of shock and Selena seemed to now be glaring at Misti with a eyes full of hate. No doubt feeling betrayed in that moment. And of all the people to break this uncomfortable (to say the least) silence it was Selena.

"To be with you?" Selena asked her friend and pushed her shoulder to get her attention. "You were with her?"

"No, I was...ohmigod, I screwed my whole life up," Misti said as she realized that every lie she'd ever told had just caught up with her.

"Answer me you lying piece of shit," Selena said as she pushed Misti again only harder. "Tell me to my face you're a fag."

"Stop using that word," Misti growled back. "I'm sick of hearing it."

"Well you sure used to it pretty liberally before you had this awakening," Selena said.

"So you really are a bully?" Lia asked with a heart broken look in her eyes. "You really did pick on people because of who they love?"

"Who told you that?" Misti asked Lia.

"No one," Lia said. "But it's true isn't it?"

"Yeah I'll bet no one," Misti said as she turned to glare at me and Mindy.

"Come on let's go," Mindy whispered to me as she hugged me from behind.

"If you even think about hurting them I swear to you Misti Grider I'll never speak to you again," Lia said as Misti's eyes snapped back to meet hers.

"Fag," Selena said again as she pushed Misti. "Unlike you I do hate them. Because I'm not one."

"Oh let me guess you're a Christian?" Lia asked Selena.

"I read my bible every night," Selena said. "And it says God hates fags."

"Stop using that word..." Misti said turned and pushed Selena back. "One more time..."

"FAG," Selena screamed in her face but was soon silenced as Misti waffled her with a haymaker. Selena slumped back against the wall and just slid down to the floor in a daze as blood ran out of her nose. Misti beginning to cry into her hands as Lia looked on helplessly. Mindy finally pulled me away as we went back up the steps and down the hall a bit before she stopped me and hugged me around the neck for a long moment.

"I love you," She said softly as she touched her forehead to mine. "I love you with all my heart."

"Me too, Melinda," I said as she grinned and kissed me. "I love you more than you know."

A long moment followed of us just holding each other. Being together.

"So did you get that dancing thing down yet?" Mindy asked to break the silence. My eyes meeting hers as she grinned knowingly.

"How did you know?" I asked in surprise.

"The paniced look in your eyes when I asked you to go to the dance?" Mindy asked.

"You saw that?" I asked as she giggled.

"Yes I saw that," She said. "So did you?"

"Chloe did her best," I said as Mindy smiled. "I can maybe fake my way through."

"You love me enough to go through that then I don't care how bad you dance," Mindy said as she kissed me one more. She didn't either.
