So in other words You damn well better ask before you steal it. Feedback: Every author in his or her own way makes it a point to ask for feedback when posting a story, well me I don't usually. But there are several reasons as to why a reader should consider taking the time to give it. The simple fact is that giving some form of feedback is truly the most important thing a reader can do after reading and enjoying a story. Hopefully in the process providing that author with at least one viable reason as to what you liked about the story. This small amount of time spent will no doubt inspire the author to write more and possibly at a quicker pace, knowing that they have a fan base who are waiting on their next works. So thanks for the feedback and please keep it comin. Summary: In the ALL NEW 23rd episode of 'Power to the Players', the apparent reunion of Charlie and Alexis has a lot of people forming opinions on the pairing before it's even been made official. Most notably? Gloria, Dylan's opinionated girlfriend who seems hell bent on letting her opinion be known despite the fact no one asked her. But the real question is what will Alexis ultimately decide when she is confronted face-on with the question of the hour by the very person she's spent 3 years avoiding. Original Airdate: Monday, August 4th, 2014 @ 9:30 p.m. Story Codes: MF, suggestion of rape ![]() I shook my head back and forth, trying to get the images of Charlie taking Alexis (virginity??) out of my mind. Natalie was next to me, smirking every time I would groan or cringe slightly. "Beck, calm down" she said smiling, squeezing my hand. "I can't! I really can't! I mean, she couldn't wait. They just saw each other after 3 years apart. Don't you think, I don't know, that they would wanna talk?" I exclaimed, trying to make sense of what just happened here. Natalie laughed and shook her head. "Beck, if you hadn't seen me for 3 years and I suddenly showed up on the same beach that we met on, what would your first reaction be?" she asked, arching her eyebrows at me. "To kiss you," I replied, looking directly at her. She smiled and leaned her head on my shoulder as we walked. "Good answer" she said. I looked over at the few people around us and was shocked that the boardwalk was even still open. It was pretty chilly out here but still alright enough to surf. We walked past a few small shops, Natalie pulling me into one that had souvenirs. She grabbed a few things and placed them on me; some glasses, some hats, a scarf, and randomly a sombrero. "Seriously? A sombrero? That just made my day" I chuckled, leaning down to put a shell necklace on her. I picked up some red heart shaped sunglasses and had to pretty much beg her to put them on for me. She looked so cute in them that I couldn't resist taking a picture, which resulted in Natalie chasing me down and forcing me to delete it. We left the shop and walked over to a pretzel stand, which Natalie wasn't that big a fan of. "You don't like pretzels?" I asked, appalled to even here of such a thing. She frowned and nodded her hand. "All that salt and dough. I'm just not crazy about them" she replied, sitting on my lap as I ripped the pretzel in half. "You're missing out. Pretzels are the shit," I said, biting into a piece. "More like they are shit" she shot back, smirking at me. I glared at her playfully and tickled her sides until she hoped off of my lap. "Beck!" she whined. I laughed a bit but slowly allowed her back into my arms. She leaned against me as I dug my toes in the sand; enjoying the warmth she was giving me. "You know, I think you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. No lie. I mean, I had Lee, Mark, Hope, Jessie, and Melody but I still felt…lonely. I don't know how to describe it but…I'm actually glad you decided to move to Baltimore with Elizabeth, Kylie and your dad" I said softly, leaning my chin on her head. I didn't even have to look at her to know she was smiling. I ripped my pretzel in half again and continued to eat it as we just watched the waves. "My parents divorced because my dad was never really around. I hope that doesn't happen with Elizabeth. I can see she loves him and Kylie loves him as well, but he needs to learn how to separate work from life." "My mom met someone else, you know. After being divorced from him for almost 10 years, she met another guy. His name is Pierce and he's really sweet. She's pregnant with a boy and she gives birth next month, that's kind of the reason why I want to go down there. I wanna see her before the baby is born. I want to make sure…" "That she'll still love you as much as her son?" I continued. She nodded and I put down my pretzel and wrapped my arms around her. "She's your mom Natalie. No matter what happens, she always will. Just like your father will always be your father. There's no changing that. And even though she's gonna have another baby, she's not going to love you any less" I said, rubbing my hand up and down her stomach. "Thank you Beck…but why are you rubbing my stomach?" she asked, putting her hands on my waist. "Just imagining you pregnant," I replied. "Please stop," she said, looking up at me. I laughed and moved my hands. "Fine! Don't have my children. I can find others!" I yelled. She gasped and quickly covered my mouth. "Stop, you're going to make a scene," she scolded. I smiled under her palm and she sent me a look before pulling her hand away. "I love you Red," I said, wrapping my arms around her waist. "I love you too but…can we wait for this children talk?" she sighed. I giggled softly and put my cheek on her head. "We've got time Red. We've got all the time in the world". * * < * > * Charlie's House * < * > * *Gloria stomped through the hall quickly, a stern look on her face as she shook her head. Dylan was running behind the girl, trying to calm her down and panicking a bit when Gloria growled in anger. "Babe, stop. I know you're pissed about this. Don't you think I am too but this is Charlie's choice?" he said, trying to reason with the angered girl. "Fuck Charlie. We're going to make this real simple. Alexis fucked up over and ignored you for 3 years. Melody is in love with you" "She thinks she's in love with her," Dylan corrected. "I don't give a damn Dylan! Charlie said it herself. She wants Melody" Gloria said, running up the steps with her boyfriend on her trail. "Oh please Gloria. If she really wanted Melody, do you think she would be where she is right now? In between Alexis's legs in her room" he shot back. "She won't be for long because I'm gonna break that up" she sang, running towards the door. Dylan grabbed her waist and swung her back around. "We can't get involved! I like Melody as much as any body else. She got Charlie out of her funk and she tried to open her up and if she had a little bit longer here, then maybe she would have broken through Charlie's icy exterior but she didn't. And you know why? Cause no other girl can besides the one she's with right now. Because Alexis was the first, first person that actually gave a damn about what Charlie wanted and saw who she really is and damn it, that means a lot to me! Yes, Alexis screwed her over. Yes, I wanted Charlie to go after another girl. Yes, I think Alexis will hurt Charlie again but all in all, it's her decision". Gloria stared hard at her boyfriend, willing him to break but his glare was as strong as hers. She sighed and put her head on his shoulder. "If Charlie gets hurt again, I'm slapping you" she said angrily. Dylan laughed and just rubbed her back. "We can't protect her forever, you know. At some point, she was going to have to make her own decisions" he said, walking her back downstairs. "I just really wish Melody was here," she groaned. "Melody had her chance. She said what she needed to say and now…I think it's only fair that Alexis be given the same right". Gloria rolled her eyes but leaned up and kissed him. "When did you get so smart?" she asked. "When I started going out with you," he replied, running his hands over her waist. "Mmmmm. Your grandparents will be home soon" she sighed, enjoying the way his body felt against hers. "All the more reason to make this quick" he said huskily, kissing around her neck. Gloria smiled before grabbing his wrist and pulling him into the guest room. * * < * > * Charlie's Room * < * > * *Alexis sat on the edge of Charlie's body as she watched her pull on a lime green shirt, wondering when the girl got so…shapely. She remembered a different version of Charlie. A small, meek girl who could barely speak for herself. A girl who would follow her around and do whatever she said. It was only now that she thought about her past did she remember how awful she treated her. How could she be in love with her after all the things she had done to Charlie? How could she still have feelings for her after the way she ignored her for 3 years? Charlie glanced over her shoulder at a crestfallen Alexis and frowned. "What's wrong?" she asked, crouching down in front of the girl. Alexis just shook her head and tried to hold back the tears. "I was horrible to you" she replied, her voice cracking when Charlie ran her hand over her cheek. She leaned into her touch and gasped when Charlie kissed her chest. "I know," she whispered, looking up at her before pulling away again. "Then why? Why do you love me? Why did you feel the way you felt about me when we were 14?" she asked, not understanding what Charlie was saying to her. "Because…because even though she bossed me around, assumed I would do whatever you said, and often teased me…you gave a damn about what I thought. If I was pissed, you left me alone. If I was sad, you mad me laugh. When I was sick, you took care of me. When I was lonely, you would come over. It was almost like…you tried to act shitty to me…to block the fact the you actually cared about me". "It was almost like what boys do when they like girls. They're mean as shit to them and tease them and push them but when they're alone, they can't stop thinking about the girl. I think that's what you were doing to me. You didn't realize you liked me, you didn't even want to like me…but you couldn't help the fact that you did," she said, smiling softly at her. Alexis's jaw dropped and she quickly looked away. "I know you felt the same. I always knew…that's why when I kissed you, you kissed me back. You wanted me to and I could see you wanted me," she said, sitting down on the bed next to her. Alexis tried to turn away again but Charlie grabbed her and made her look her way. "I want to tell you the truth. I'm terrified of loving you again…actually I never stopped. But I don't want to give you my heart for fear that you'll break it again. I met this girl, someone who I think I love and she thinks she loves me too and I would willingly be with her…but I can't until I find some way to get over you. So I need to know this now and please don't lie to me. Can you see us going anywhere in the future? Can you really be with me wholeheartedly?" she asked firmly, looking directly at Alexis. They sat there for seconds but to the both of them, it felt like hours, months, and years were slipping away. Years that they could have been together. Years that wouldn't have them separated from each other. Years that they would never get back. Alexis bit her lower lip as Charlie practically pleaded with her eyes to make her decision and let her continue with her life. "Please Alexis. You have to tell me now and you have to tell me honestly. It's either you and I or me and Melody," she asked again, hoping she would realize how important this decision would be. Alexis wanted to tear away from her piercing stare. She wanted to run away from this beach house and Ocean City and never look back. She wanted to forget that Danielle Charles ever existed and forget everything that happened between them. But she couldn't. Danielle Charles existed and what was between them existed and Alexis knew that she couldn't run from it anymore. She knew that she couldn't be a coward and hid behind Beck for the rest of her life, hoping that this girl, the girl with the piercing green eyes would never find her. She had to decide. She had to make a choice. She had to give Charlie some piece of mind so that she could continue on with her life. "Charlie…I" Her cell phone went off in her pocket and Charlie mumbled a curse word under her breath before letting Alexis go. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out her phone. "Hello?" "Alexis, come on. We're outside. It's time to go" "Alright Beck, I'll be down in a minute" Alexis calmly hung up her phone and put it back in her pocket, she stood up and pulled her sweater back on and grabbed her things. Charlie stared up at the ceiling, not wanting to watch the girl disappear from her eyes again. "Charlie, look at me" "No" "Charlie…please" "No, just go. I don't wanna watch you leave" "Charlie, I promise you won't be disappointed just please". Charlie felt Alexis straddle her but kept her eyes shut. "Open your eyes" she whispered in her ear. Charlie looked at the girl and almost got the wind knocked out of her. Alexis was smiling, but not like she usually did. She was smiling like she didn't have a care in the world. She was smiling like she had just learned the secret to life. She was smiling as if, as if she knew something that Charlie did not. "I want you Charlie…I've always wanted you," she said proudly. Charlie's face spread into a grin as she captured the girl's lips against hers. Maybe things between them wouldn't work. Maybe she would make the wrong choice and maybe they would regret ever getting together at all. But god damn it, they were gonna try their best at it, no matter what happened next. * * < * > * Lee's House * < * > * *"Lee!" "Yes Jessie?" "Can you bring me some water?" "Are you gonna throw up again?" "Maybe, can you just please bring me some water?" "Sure thing". Lee paused the game he was playing and quickly got up from the couch. Jessie was lying on the bed, rubbing her stomach and looking rather pale. "I swear, if she looks any worse, she's going to the hospital," Mrs. Wong said, frowning at the poor girl. Jessie chuckled softly but quickly grimaced and grabbed her stomach. "I'm fine Mrs. Wong. Just a few pains here and there," she said weakly. Lee sadly looked at his girlfriend and dashed downstairs to get her some water. Mr. Wong looked over at his son and sighed. "Is she still sick?" he asked in Japanese. Lee nodded and pulled a glass out of the cabinet. "Mom says if she gets worse, she's taking her to the hospital" he replied, filing the cup up with cold water. "The girl should see a good doctor. Has she been seeing anyone?" he asked. "Not that I know of. Jessie has been pretty hush, hush about the baby. The only one she talks to about it are Natalie and Hope" he replied. Mr. Wong scoffed and put down his book. "That's going to have to change. She needs an OBGYN and a good one at that. Tomorrow, we will go to the doctor's office to make sure her and the baby are in good shape". Lee nodded and walked back upstairs with the water in his hand. He gave it to Jessie and whispered a, "thank you" before sipping from it. Lee walked in his bathroom and grabbed a wash cloth. He ran cool water over it and walked back over to Jessie, gently placing it on her forehead. She sighed in gratitude and he smiled down at her. "Are you better now?" he asked. She nodded her head but her hand still held her stomach. Lee frowned at this but didn't mention it. "Tomorrow, you're going to go see a doctor with my dad and I" he said. Jessie shook her head. "There's no need. I'm fine," she said quickly. "No Jessie. You're not. You're pregnant and you need to see a doctor to check up on you. You shouldn't be sick like this and I wanna make sure you're ok," he said, putting his hand on her stomach and gently rubbing it. "…Do you think I should tell Chase…that I'm going to go see…a doctor?" she asked, her eyes getting tired as she tried to fight sleep. "No. He doesn't need to know. Just try and get some sleep ok?" Jessie was gone before he completed his sentence and Lee smiled at her. He leaned down and kissed her cheek before walking back over to his couch to continue the game. "Is she asleep?" Mrs. Wong asked. Lee just nodded and looked over at his mother. "Are you sure you want to do this Lee? This is a big responsibility you know. And the child is not yours" she said. "I know…but Jessie can't go through this alone" he said sternly. Mrs. Wong sighed at her son and felt a tug at her pants. She looked down at the smiling face of Lance and gently scooped him up into her arms. "You're brother is getting so big. I just hope you don't grow up as fast as he did," she teased, tickling his stomach. Lance laughed and moved closer towards his mother as they closed the door to Lee and Jessie's room. - - - I leaned against the side of my car, watching the sunset as Natalie sat on the hood; doing the same as me. I wrapped my right arm around her waist and jumped on top of the car, placing my body behind hers as she leaned against me. "This is perfect," she said, sighing. I laughed softly and closed my eyes. Listening to the waves hitting the shore and Natalie's gentle breathing. It seemed like a dream to me…until Dylan walked out from his house with Gloria behind him. "Beck! Natalie! What are you doing here?" he exclaimed, jogging over to us. "Dylan!" Natalie yelled happily, jumping from my arms and running to him. Dylan smiled and picked her up, hugging her tight. I hopped off my car and walked over to Gloria, saying 'hello' to her and giving her a hug as well. We switched partners and Natalie walked back towards me. "My cousin really needed to see your sister" I said, smirking at him. "Wait. Your cousin…is Alexis Fellows! Are you serious?" Gloria asked, her jaw dropping as she stared at me. I just nodded and ran my hand over my neck. "You know, now that you say something….I kind of do see the resemblance" Dylan said, arching his eyebrows at me. Natalie did the same and they all laughed when I looked away. "Kind of weird to have you all staring at me" I mumbled. Natalie just smiled and kissed my neck. "So, why didn't you tell me you knew my sister when we were at the beach?" Dylan asked. "I didn't really think it was right of me to share my cousin's business. Plus, you know how Alexis is" I said bluntly. We all nodded at that and turned around when we heard the door slam behind us. Alexis and Charlie were walking together, hand and hand. Every now and then Charlie would lean down and kiss her and Alexis would laugh before kissing her back. "What…the hell?" Dylan and I said at the same time. "No, you missed it Dylan. Guess who was going at it on the beach with Beck and I standing right there?" Natalie teased. "Who?" he asked. Natalie leaned over and whispered something in his ear. Dylan's jaw dropped and he leaned his head on Gloria's shoulder. "I'm actually glad I missed that" he said. Gloria smiled and patted him on the head. Alexis and Charlie walked toward us and I smirked at her. "Next time you wanna fuck Charlie. Could you at least wait until I'm not around? Geez" I said, walking towards the side of my car. Alexis laughed and looked over at Charlie. "I'll see you soon" she said, kissing her. Charlie nodded and kissed her back before letting her go. Natalie said 'good-bye' to them before getting the passenger seat and closing the door. "Hey Beck? Next time you come down, we'll all hang out again alright?" Dylan said. I rolled my window down and smiled. "That sounds like a plan. I'll even bring my friends and we can make it an event. How about spring break?" I asked. "That sounds good. I'll call you about it and we can arrange something. Bye Alexis. Drive safely Beck" Gloria replied. I pulled out of the driveway and Alexis and Natalie waved good-bye before we hit the road, heading back towards home. "We've got a lot to do before spring break comes up" I sighed, leaning back against my seat. "I'm sure we'll find a way baby. We don't have a choice" Natalie said softly, taking my hand. I smiled at her but then remembered something very important. "No actually, I'm interested in his sister but...she's so…I can't even explain her". I frowned and dropped the smile from my face. "Melody…I'm so sorry" I whispered to myself. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw Alexis smiling happily to herself. I wanted my cousin to be happy…but I felt like I was breaking Melody's heart all the more. First me, now Charlie. Would she ever find someone to make her happy? *flashback* "Shit! Agh! Stop!" "What?" "You're hurting me" "What? You're fine. Just relax" "No, Alex" "Calm down, Kendra" "Stop! Get off of me" "Why are you fighting this? This is what you want right? You want to be straight…and I'm helping you" "No, you're raping me!" "Stop calling it that!" "Alex! No!" "I'm helping you Kendra. I'm just helping you" "Stop! No!" "What the hell is going on here?" Alex looked over his shoulder at the 5'8" girl with brown hair, staring right at him as he pushed himself deeper in Kendra. "What the? Get the hell out of here!" he snarled, waving her away. "No. Please, help me" Kendra yelled before Alex covered her mouth. "She's fine. Now leave!" he yelled again. The girl slowly walked towards the door, hearing Kendra mumble in protest. She turned the knob and heard the scream of the girl as Alex continued his motions. "Fuck this!" she mumbled before turning around and punching Alex in the mouth. He groaned and fell to the ground. Kendra quickly pulled up her pants and wipe her tears, kicking Alex in the stomach before running out the room. The girl followed and ignored Alex's threats. When she looked down the hall, Kendra was stumbling back and forth, crying as she ran. The girl felt her heart drop and walked to her. "Here" she said softly, handing her a tissue. Kendra pulled away from her as she sniffled. "No, just forget everything you just saw alright. Leave me alone. Alex didn't touch me. He didn't. He would never hurt me. He loves me" she mumbled, rambling almost. The girl arched her eyebrows at Kendra before picking her up and tossing her over her shoulder. "Put me down! Stop it! Do you know how you are messing with? My boyfriend will kill you!" she yelled. The girl rolled her eyes and carried her down the hall, all the while wondering what could have happened to make this girl snap in the first place. "I don't even know you. Let me go! Alex will be pissed when he finds out what you're doing to me. What's your name?" she yelled, kicking her feet back and forth. "Khloe. Now shut the hell up". * * < * > * The Hospital * < * > * *Lee paced back and forth as he waited outside the door for Jessie. She asked him to come in with her but he had declined and thought it wouldn't be appropiate. Lee still wondered how he would feel when the baby was born. It wasn't second thoughts. Just worries. Worries of how Jessie and he would be able to work through their problems with a baby. Worries of if he would ever be able to live his dreams without having Jessie by his side. Worries of…how he was going to be able to support her, the baby, and even himself. Lee felt a strong hand of his shoulder and looked over at his father. "You're doing the right thing son. I know things will be difficult but I will help you every step of the way" he said, smiling at him. Lee smiled back and they broke apart when the door opened. Jessie walked out with the doctor behind her and he quickly took her hand. "Jessie! Are you ok?" he asked, hugging her. She nodded and laid her head on his shoulder. "The baby has developed well and…I'm happy to say that…in a few months, you will be having a little girl" the doctor said smiling. Lee's eyes widened and he put his hand on Jessie's stomach. "A…girl" he whispered to himself. Jessie smiled. "Natalie and Hope owe me money" she said, rubbing her stomach. Mr. Wong spoke some more to the doctor before he congratulated Jessie called in his next patient. "So do you like the doctor?" Lee asked, walking out of the hospital behind his father. Jessie nodded. "He gave me some medicine to take and a list of food to eat that would help the baby" she replied. Lee smiled at her and held the door open for her. She smiled back and walked out. Lee's worries drifted away with one look at Jessie's smile. He would do whatever it took to help them and provide for her. Lee knew it was crazy. He knew he was out of his mind…but he would do anything for Jessie and the baby. "Jess…" he said, turning around and looking into her eyes. "Hmmm?" she asked, taking his hand. No more second thoughts. No more worries. No more lies. No more cheating. No more you and I. Just us. "Will you marry me?" ![]() ![]() Written by
