Original Airdate: Monday, July 21st, 2014 @ 9:30 p.m. Story Codes: ff ![]() Charlie watched her as she walked around her hotel, collecting her things and pulling clothes out of her drawer to put in her suitcase. She was leaning against the wall, playing with a yo-yo and trying hard not to let Melody see her face. Melody frowned as she slid another piece of hair behind her ear, hoping Charlie would say something but the girl stayed quiet. Melody scanned her body and sighed. This would probably be the last time she saw Charlie until the summer and she didn't want this to be the last thing she remembered from her. Charlie's eyes met her and Melody gasped as she saw tears brimming around her eyes, almost threatening to fall. She dropped her socks on the floor and quickly ran over to her, cupping her face and wiping her tears. Charlie pulled away from her and hissed, "I'm fine Melody!" She was a bit shocked by Charlie's tone but didn't let it affect her. "I'll be back during the summer, I promise," she whispered, trying to reach for her hand. Charlie just moved her hand towards her and shook her head. "That's too long," she said bluntly, pushing off from the door and helping her pack. "Charlie…stop" she sighed; watching her violently threw her clothes in the bag. Charlie just kept going and Melody's anger started to rise. She grabbed her wrist but Charlie pulled away and kept bagging. "Stop it!" Melody yelled. "No! You wanna go Mel? Fucking go! That's all they do anyway. They all leave me after awhile. My parents, my friends, Alexis; why don't you just leave me too?" she snapped, throwing her shirt at the wall. "I'm not leaving you!" Melody snapped back. "Yes, you are! You're leaving…just like everybody else. Please, don't give me an excuse and just leave!" Charlie pushed past her but Melody grabbed her hand and spun her back around. "I'm not leaving, you're pushing me away! I don't want to go anymore than you want me to leave but I have to go to school and if I could, I would transfer over here but…I have too much going for me at mine. You have to understand that…this is hurting me as bad as you," she said, interlacing her fingers with Charlie's as she began to Cry. Charlie's eyes softened and she pulled Melody into her arms, holding her tight. "I'm sorry Mel. I'm so sorry; I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm just…so used to watching everything I love walk away and you've found a way into my heart. Even though you've only been here for a week, I can honestly say that…I'm beginning to feel something for you and…I don't want to let it go" she whispered, running her fingers through Melody's hair. She gripped the girl tighter and Charlie sat down on the edge of the bed with Melody craddled against her body. "I want to…I want to see where this goes. I want to understand what I'm feeling for you. I want to know why Melody Schmidt is the only person who can heal my heart," she said in embarrassment. Melody smiled through her tears and looked up at the once strong girl's loose demeanor. She ran her hand over Charlie's cheek lovingly and smiled. "I came here with a broken heart and I'm leaving with a new one because of you," she said smiling when Charlie finally let her tears fall, clinging to Melody like a child. "Please don't leave me," she sobbed, hiding her face in the crook of Melody's neck. She pulled Charlie by her shirt on to her bed and cuddled next to her, pulling the covers over them. "Just…sleep with me tonight. That's my only request. The only thing I want is to be near you my last night here" she whispered, wrapping her arm around Charlie and pulling her towards her body so that her back was against her waist. Charlie nodded and threw her arm around Melody's waist, spooning her. She gripped her hand and interlaced their fingers. And as the two girls slept, it felt like the world no longer existed. Tomorrow would never come. The sun would never rise and Melody would never leave her side. A small smile crept over Charlie's face and she held Melody tighter. "I want this…I want you Melody" she whispered in the girl's ear and smiled when Melody whispered back, "So do I Charlie". * * < * > * The Next Day * < * > * * Dylan and Charlie watched as Buck loaded the car and shut the trunk, walking around towards the front of the car and starting it. "Come on you two! We have to hurry or else we'll hit traffic on the way back," he yelled. "We're coming Buck! Geez!" Madison yelled back at her husband. She ran towards the passenger side after giving Dylan and Charlie both a hug. "Thank you both for being so good to Melody this week. She really needed to get her mind off of things," she said happily, squeezing Charlie's hand. The girl nodded sheepishly and blushed when her brother nudged her in the shoulder. Melody walked out the lobby doors, carrying a box in her hand and gave Dylan a hug before stepping in front of Charlie. They were trying hard not to let their emotions get to them. They both agreed that they did enough crying last night. Melody wrapped her arms around Charlie's neck, being careful not to knock her box over. Charlie sighed in exasperation and held Melody around her waist. They pulled away slightly and Melody put the box in her hands. "Don't open it until I drive away" she said sternly. Charlie nodded and Melody leaned up and kissed Charlie on her forehead before walking backwards towards her car, afraid that if she turned around, she would disappear. Charlie watched her opened the door to her car and drive away, feeling like a knife was in her chest and a frog was stuck in her throat. She stared down at the black box and Dylan arched his eyebrows at her. "Open it" he said, motioning towards the box. Charlie nodded and took the top off of the box. A bright yellow card was sitting neatly inside and the title was in bright red letters. "Thank You" Charlie handed the box to Dylan and slowly opened it. "Dear Charlie, I don't know how to say this so I'll make it short. I was so hurt when I came here, I had just gotten out of a relationship and I felt like my entire world was ending…literally. But then, you showed up by the shore and for some reason, I knew things were changing. You have such a cold demeanor to you that I felt like I wouldn't be able to crack you but…you have such a huge heart and I feel so bad about the fact that you hide it in fear of letting some hurt you. I'll be blunt about this. Love sucks. It destroys you and beats you and kicks you when you're down and makes you want to scream…but it's also the most beautiful thing you can give to someone. I thought I was in love with her. I thought I knew what love was. I thought she was the one. But I thought wrong. I hope I never have to leave you again. Until the summer. Melody P.S. I believe I love you…but I need you to believe it too". Charlie stared at the letter for a while…before dropping it on the ground and running after Melody's car. "Charlie! What the hell are you doing?" Dylan yelled, taking off after her. "I can't let her go! I just can't! I'm sorry Dylan. I need to talk to her now!" she yelled back, turning the corner onto the street. "Charlie, stop! She has to go back home. We'll see her in the summer. Charlie!" he yelled, trying his best to catch up with her. "She loves me! She loves me Dylan," she said, her heart speeding up when she saw Melody's car. Charlie ran faster, ignoring the people staring at her and the horn beeping as she jumped in front of cars, Dylan trailing right behind her. "She loves me and…and…and…" she thought, fighting the fact that her body was getting tired and that the car was out of her reach. "I believe I love her too!" Charlie stood in the middle of the road, staring after Melody's car as she was hit with the realization. She saw Melody watching her as the car sped off around a turn and onto the highway. Dylan grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the road and onto the curb. "What…the hell…is wrong…with you?" he yelled, trying to catch his breath. Charlie was breathing hard and she sat down on the ground, watching the cars drive by and Dylan sat down next to her. "I love her too Dylan" she whispered. "What do you mean? You guys just met this week" he exclaimed, looking over at her. Charlie leaned back and looked at the sky. "I guess…sometimes you just know," she said, not taking her eyes off the clouds. Dylan chuckled and put his arm around Charlie's shoulder. "You're too much, you know that sis?" he teased. Charlie smirked at her brother and leaned against his body. "Do you think mom and dad would like her?" she asked softly. Dylan just shrugged and kissed the top of her head. "I don't know…but if they were still alive. I think they would love her" he replied. "Now come on, we should head back to the beach". Charlie nodded and laughed when Dylan pulled her on his back. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her chin against his head. "Don't you ever leave me Dylan," she whispered. "No chance in hell Danielle" he said quickly, walking around the corner. She slapped his chest and he laughed. "It's Charlie," she mumbled. "Whatever…I don't care what you call yourself. I'll always be your brother" he shot back. She smiled and held him tighter, knowing that no matter what happened, Dylan would always be the person who would never leave her side. - - - - - - I cuddled against Alexis, enjoying the warmth she was giving me as Natalie drove down the highway, a stern frown on her face. "Why am I driving? And why aren't I being cuddled?" she complained, glancing over at me in the backseat. "Because you didn't break out into tears when I tried to get up in the car. She finally fell asleep," I said, slowly pulling away from her and wiping away her tears. "She's been crying since the weekend began" Natalie sighed. I crawled into the front side and put my seatbelt back on. "Because she's been holding it in for so long. It's about time that she let it all out," I said, taking her hand and kissing it. She smiled at me but kept her eyes on the road. "Thank you for letting me drive Beck. I know how you feel about your car," she said smirking. I just shrugged and leaned back on my seat. "That's because we all know what happened last time I drove a car like this" I mumbled. She slapped my arm and shoved me away from her. "That's not funny! I hate when you do that," she yelled, pulling her hand away from me. My expression softened and I realized that she was genuinely upset. "Nat…Red, I'm sorry. I really am. I forgot that you don't like talking about that," I whispered, leaning over to get a good look at her. Her eyes were watering and her lips were held tight, both her piercings sticking out. "I know that that night was horrible to you and…I promise I won't bring it up again," I said sincerely. "That…was the night I realized I was in love with you Beck. I love you so much and when I thought I was going to lose you…God, I barely wanted to leave your side that night" she said sadly, wiping angrily at her cheeks. "And I love you too. Just…I'm sorry Red. I won't bring it up again". I took Natalie's hand in mine again and she glanced over at me when I started pouting. "It's not gonna work Beck" she smiled, trying her best not to. "It looks like it is to me," I teased. Natalie stuck her tongue out at me and I couldn't help myself. I pulled her lips against mine and bit her tongue. Her eyes widened and she pulled away sharply. "Beck! That hurt. You could have made me hit something," she scolded, pulling at her tongue and looking for a bruise. I laughed when she tried to ignore me again. "I love you," I said cheekily. She grunted something and turned the music up on the radio. I looked in the back at Alexis and saw her cuddling with my jacket. Natalie looked in the rear view mirror and frowned. "That's my jacket," she said, in slight jealously. I just chuckled and leaned over, kissing her on the cheek. "Wake me up, before you go go," I whispered in her ear. She giggled and kissed me back. "Alright, I love you too" she mumbled, hiding behind a smile. I kissed her neck and she laughed. "Beck, you're gonna make me crash" she whined. "No, but we might crash if I did this" I said sneakily, ducking my hand between her legs. Her cheeks turned bright red and she bit her lower lip. "Beck, don't" she panted, her breathing kicking up. I wanted nothing more than to pull this car over, drag Natalie out the front seat and have my way with her but I knew I couldn't. We had a mission to do after all. I groaned and pulled my hand away and back against me. "Sorry" I groaned. She just nodded and took my hand in hers. "Soon. You know I want to give myself to you as much as you want to take me" she said, stroking my hand. I played with her fingers; comparing her thumb to mine and counting ever freckle on her hand. "You get so cutesy when it's just us" she giggled. I shrugged in embarrassment and looked at her. "You bring it out of me" I replied honestly. She smiled before speeding up a bit and taking the next exit. * * < * > * Charlie's House * < * > * * "Is she ok?" "Yeah, actually. I'm surprised you know. This is the first time that someone important has left her and she hasn't started flipping out" "She seems normal to be" "She is normal. That's the weird part? Melody left yesterday and she's just…chill" "Doesn't sound like Charlie to me" "Me neither, Gloria. Now come kiss me" Gloria smiled at her boyfriend before leaning over and pecking him on the lips twice. "I'm glad you're taking good care of her, Dylan," she whispered against his mouth. "She's my sister. I'm the only person she's got left," he whispered back. "Besides your grandparents" Gloria reminded him. He just rolled his eyes and stole another kiss from her. "Either way, it's a brother's job to watch over his sister; plus I'm the oldest" he said proudly. "By 4 minutes" Gloria shot back smugly. "Geez, Gloria. You wanna ruin everything today" he said, smacking her on the ass. Gloria squealed but walked out of the house and headed down towards the beach. Charlie was sitting on the sand, her blue jacket zipped up to her neck and her Osiris shoes lying against a stone. She was eating Twizzlers and Gloria ran over to her, wrapping her arms around her waist. "How are you?" she whispered, stealing one of her Twizzlers from her. Charlie just laughed and let one dangle from her lips, holding it in front of Gloria. She leaned over and bit the end of it, pulling the candy into her own mouth. Dylan sighed and sat down next to them. "I hate when you guys do that. You two look so coupley" he pouted. Gloria giggled and Charlie blushed before quickly shaking her head. "You didn't know? Charlie is my girlfriend on the side," Gloria said seductively, running her hands over Charlie's stomach. The girl blushed and looked over at his brother's girlfriend. "You're a weirdo," she said bluntly. Gloria just laughed and pecked Charlie on her forehead. "I know, but I also know you love me for it" she said, smiling at her. Dylan laughed and pulled Gloria into his lap. "Do you wanna go surfing?" he asked his twin. Charlie shook her head and pulled the collar of her jacket closer around her neck. "It's too cold lately. Winter sure came around fast…I hope it leaves fast too" she said solemnly. Gloria pouted and crawled over to Charlie, pushing her on the sand and lying down on top of her. "I'm sure Melody will be back sooner than you think, Danielle" she whispered, pushing the hair out of her face. The only person Charlie allowed to call her Danielle was Gloria and Alexis. She didn't let anyone else in beside these two and her brother. Charlie had a feeling that would change though because she would willingly allow Melody to call her whatever she chose. "Are you sure you're not gonna leave me for Charlie?" Dylan asked, arching his eyebrows at Gloria. She rolled her eyes at his antics and stuck her tongue out at him. The truth was that 2 years ago, Charlie and Gloria used to mess around before Dylan and Gloria got together. Things just started moving too fast for Charlie and the entire relationship was based on sex. Charlie knew that deep down, she didn't want Gloria and the girl would be a lot happier with Dylan. Even though the didn't talk about their past together, Gloria still felt a very strong connection to the other Charles twin. Charlie wrapped her arm around Gloria's waist as they listened to the waves hit the shore. "I think I'm gonna be a surfer when I graduate this year" she said bluntly. Dylan sat up quickly and looked at her. "Seriously? No way! You know grandma and grandpa wouldn't let you 'throw their fortunes away' on surfing" he shot back. Charlie just shrugged and ran her hand up Gloria's back. "I'll be 18 by then. Whatever they gonna do?" she said to no one in particular. Dylan opened his mouth to protest but stopped when Gloria put her finger against his lips. "Don't talk baby. If Charlie wants to surf, let her surf. You can't protect her forever" she said smiling at him. She took her fingers off his lips and sat up on Charlie's waist, straddling her before leaning over to kiss her boyfriend. "You know, if anybody were to walk by right now, they would think we were having a threesome over here" Charlie said chuckling. Dylan and Gloria both looked down at her before Dylan tossed sand on her, making her jump up quickly and toss Gloria off her body. "Ow! Charlie!" she growled, not expecting to hit the ground that hard. Charlie spit as sand got into her mouth and watched as Dylan fell over from laughing so hard. "Dylan, don't be a dick," Gloria scolded. He crawled over to her and just wrapped his arms around her. "Whatever, you know that was funny" he chuckled, kissing her neck. Gloria reached back and ran her fingers through his short black hair. Charlie saw them together and decided not to ruin the couple's moment so she began to walk down the beach. Charlie didn't know what to expect these next few months. Would she fall out of love with Melody? Would Melody meet somebody else at school? Would she forget all about her? Would they stay in touch after the amazing week they had together? She sighed and kicked at the sand around her shoes. For once, she was actually wondering what Alexis was doing. "Stop. You shouldn't be thinking about her! It will only cause you more pain," she thought, scolding herself for even bringing up the girl's name. "Besides, I bet she's forgotten all about me" she sighed, planting her feet in the ground and staring out at the ocean. "Charlie…." Her eyes widened but she dared not turn around. It couldn't be! She would never come back here! Not after everything she put me through. Not after the way she treated me. Not after she broke my heart. Charlie could feel her blood boiling and she closed her eyes shut tight. Half wishing it was a dream and half wishing that it wasn't. "Charlie…please" She heard it again and clenched her hand into a fist. She wouldn't come back! Stop playing games with me brain, she wouldn't come back! "Charlie, please turn around" She came back. Charlie spun around fast and practically tackled the girl into a hug, grabbing onto her jacket as hard as she could. She heard Alexis inhale sharply before holding her just as strong. "How dare you come back here! How fucking dare you!" she hissed, partly in anger but mostly in fear. Fear of getting hurt once more. "Charlie, I…" She didn't care what she had to say. She didn't care what she was here to do. All she wanted was to feel her again…just one more time. She grabbed her chin and leaned her head up, pinning her arms behind her back and kissing Alexis. She moaned into the kiss and tried to pull her arms away but Charlie held her tight. "Uhn unh. You're not breaking away this time," she mumbled against her mouth, biting down hard on her lip. Alexis's legs felt weak and she couldn't help but fall against her. Charlie let go of her arms and grabbed her waist when Alexis's arm pulled at her collar, pressing their lips into each other harder. She hopped up and wrapped her legs around her waist, tears threatening to fall when she felt Charlie hold on tighter to her and kiss around her cheek and neck. "Charlie…I…don't…" she moaned, throwing her head back when Charlie hit one of her pleasure points. She ran her hand up and down the girl's back, pulling tightly at her shirt and cupping her ass. Alexis groaned out in pleasure but quickly pulled away, her lips swollen and breathing hard. Charlie growled at being refused of her kiss and pushed her tongue past the girl's lips. Alexis grabbed at her hair and felt Charlie's hand making its way towards her front. "No!...Charlie!...Not here!...Beck and Natalie…Ahh!" she grabbed her tightly when her finger made its way inside of her. Charlie moved in and out of the girl, biting down on her shoulder blade as Alexis grabbed at her. "Mhm!...Charlie, stop…ohhh!" she sighed, her body stiffening when Charlie moved faster. "I missed you," she whispered, adding another finger inside the girl. Alexis' mouth fell open and she hid her head against Charlie's shoulder, trying hard to hold in her moans. "I missed you so much" she repeated, moving faster and faster inside the girl who was writhing against her. "Too much!...Charlie, don't stop!...oh God!...so good, please don't…ever…STOP!!" she screamed, biting on her shoulder blade as she came against her. Charlie collapsed against the sand, holding Alexis in her lap and stroking her and she came down from her high. Alexis's grip did not loosen until her breathing returned to normal. She looked up at Charlie and bit her lower lip. "I'm sorry," she finally said, cupping her face in her hands as she gave her a gentle kiss. Charlie leaned her forehead against the other girls and then stiffened when she noticed Beck and Natalie arching their eyebrows at the two girls. "What the fuck Charlie?! You couldn't wait until we left! Damn!" Beck yelled, her jaw hanging up as she glanced over at her girlfriend who was blushing profusely. Charlie quickly pulled her hand out of Alexis's pants and wiped it on her pants. Alexis stood up on shaky legs but Charlie held her against her and smiled sheepishly over at Beck. "Um…hey. Long Time, no see" she said nervously. Natalie burst out laughing and rubbed Beck's back, trying to calm her down. "As soon as we get here! As soon as we even reach the fucking beach! Can you believe that Red? Can you? Damn!" she exclaimed, walking towards the boardwalk, hand and hand with Natalie. Alexis now realized how awkward the situation was and she stared at the ground in embarrassment. "You um…probably shouldn't have gotten me off with my cousin and her girlfriend standing right there" she said, smiling at her. Charlie put her hand in her pocket and smiled back. "Yeah well…nobody forced them to watch" she shot back in a shrug. Alexis just kept smiling and looked over at the waves. "Thank you" she whispered. Charlie looked over at her and arched her eyebrows. "For getting you off?" she whispered back. Alexis shook her head and said, "for loving me". Charlie's stomach did flips and she grabbed her hand. "Say it. Say what you've been dying to say for the past 3 years," she said in desperation. Alexis bit her lip again and looked around, hoping no one else had seen them on the beach besides Beck and Natalie. "Say it Lexi" Charlie repeated, not letting her go. "I…I love you Charlie" she said softly, starting right into her eyes. Charlie's heartbeat went faster and she couldn't help herself. She knew it was wrong but Melody and her weren't really together, they had never confirmed they were together. All she knew was that she loved the girl…but did she love her more than Alexis…was the question? Charlie quickly pulled her into a deserted spot on the beach and continued to show her just how much she missed her.
