I couldn't sleep. I just kept tossing and turning in the bed. I don't know how long I stared at the sleeping, wishing for sleep to take over me; wishing that today could have been just a dream. But deep down, I knew it wasn't.

Jessie was pregnant and I was going to have to accept that. It was just the thought of Lee finding out that made me restless.

He was my best friend and these last 2 months without Jessie have been hell to him, so telling him that his ex-girlfriend is pregnant with someone else's baby, he just might lose control.

I sighed and flipped open my cell phone, clicking 'speed dial 1' and pressing the phone against my ear.

"Although I love the sound of your voice at night, I do need to get some sleep" I heard Natalie mumble. I smiled and could practically see her leaning against her headboard and yawning. Nothing had ever seemed more beautiful to me.

"Sorry, I can't sleep. My brains going into over-active mode again. I'm thinking about too many things at once" I sighed, turning on my right side and leaning my elbow against my pillow.

"Awwww. Poor Becky. You have to at least try," she said softly.

"I know. I know. And I've tried to but…I can't" I said, looking up at the ceiling again for the 28th time tonight.

"I have any idea…" she whispered. I smirked and almost had the urge to get up and run to her house like she had done to me so many months ago.

"Ok. What?" I asked playfully. "Close your eyes". I did as I was told and closed my eyes tight.

"Are you laying down right now?"

"Kind of. I'm on my side".

"Flip over on your back".

I did as I was told once again and waited for Natalie to say something else.

"…You know I love you right?" she asked. I laughed and she laughed with me.

"I think I know that by now. After everything we've been through you better love me. And I love you too" I replied smiling.

"Good, because I want to ask you a big favor" she said.

"Is this going to put me to sleep? Is this some type of phone sex thing because I'm all for that but it may be a little awkward knowing that my cousins are in the room downstairs and Brandon is right down the hall" I said.

Natalie laughed and I could practically see her shaking her head. "No perv. This is no form of phone sex…although maybe…sometime soon…we could, you know, discuss the issue of sex?" she whispered in embarrassment.

"Right now my mind isn't even worried about sex. I have you and that's all that matters. We'll cross that bridge when we get there, I guess" I said shrugging.

"Beck, the first time we met I almost attacked you in my room. And if I remember, you said if Kylie hadn't knocked on the door, we would have went all that way" she defended.

My blood heated a bit and I smirked. "Uh…that was lust! We both knew we were attracted to one another but nothing happened that day…luckily. And what about you? You started some things too. Like, putting your hand on my thigh the first day we met…and bringing me to your room in the first place" I shot back.

"Well, maybe I did. But nothing happened now did it?" she said smugly.

I pouted and put my head against my pillow. "I hate you," I mumbled. "Awww. I love you too baby" she said, laughing.

I shot up in my bed and stared at my phone before putting it back against my ear. "Did you just call me 'baby'?" I asked smiling.

"No. I don't know what you're talking about" she lied. "Yes you did. You called me baby! Awwww" I teased.

"I hate you" Natalie mumbled back. "Well, I love you Natalicious" I said, feeling higher than a kite.

"Such an embarrassing name" she groaned. "Not anymore embarrassing than little foot" I groaned as well.

I heard her laugh and smiled. "Where did your father get that name?" she asked.

"When I was a baby, he used to count my fingers and toes. Don't ask me why, everytime I do, he says 'it's just a dad thing'. Anyway, my mom used to joke about me having little feet to my dad and he came up with the name little foot and he's called me that ever since" I explained.

"Awww. Little foot. Does Brandon have a pet name too?" she asked.

"Yup. His is cutesier than mine. Mom gave it to him. She used to call him 'giggles' because he used to laugh a lot as a child…apparently he grew out of that so she stopped calling him that" I replied.

"How come when your feet got larger, your dad didn't stop calling you little foot?" she asked.

"I don't know. It's a dad thing" I replied smiling. Natalie sighed and I felt like reaching through this phone and holding her.

"Your dad loves you Natalie," I said softly. "Then how come I don't feel like he does?" she said back just as soft.

"…I'll give you your own personal pet name. One just for you" I said, trying to cheer her up.

"What about Natalicious?" she asked playfully. I smiled. "I stole that from off your folder. This one will be all mine and just for you" I replied.

"Alright. I'm getting kind of tired though" she yawned. "Go back to sleep then. I'll see you in the morning…or technically a few hours cause it's like 3am" I said.

Natalie laughed again and I felt my heart jump. I wanted to hear that laugh for the rest of my life. I wanted to talk to her at night when I couldn't sleep. Or cheer her up when she was upset about her father. I wanted Natalie more than anything.

"Ok. Good night Beck. See you in a few hours. I love you," she whispered. "I love you too. Good night."

I closed my cell phone and put it back on my nightstand before ducking back under my covers, hoping to get to sleep so that I could see her smile.

Dylan & Charlie's House

Charlie stared out at the waters as she watched her twin brother surf. It was early in the morning and the waves were always best before dawn. It was a tradition between the two of them since they were both 12. Dylan would race her down to the beach and whoever got there first rode the first wave, so here she was. 5 years later, sitting on the beach with a wetsuit on and her blue board lying next to her.

For some reason, she couldn't stop thinking about a certain girl. It wasn't the same girl she had been thinking about for the past 3 years, but a girl with brown hair and a personality that made Charlie want to smile.

She was different from the others. All the other tourists that came down were only useful for a good time on the beach, never a real serious conversation or a serious commitment. But this girl was different, she seemed…genuine. Like she didn't care what anyone else had to say or what anyone else thought, she was gonna be what you wanted to be.

Charlie smiled at the thought and laid down on the sand. "Alexis used to be like that," she said aloud, groaning when she realized she was still thinking about her.

"Ex still got you down?"

Charlie looked up at the shadow of her brother and sighed. "Can't call her an ex if we never went out right?" she mumbled, sitting up against the sand.

Dylan Charles sat down next to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "You know what you're problem is. You're not exploring the waters. You remember what grandpa said about girls. 'There are plenty of fish in the sea. You just gotta swim a little'. And sis, you haven't really been doing much swimming" he said.

"I guess it's because I don't wanna swim for anymore fish. I already caught the best fish in the sea, I just let it slip out of my grip," she groaned, hitting the sand with her fist.

"You were 14! Of course she was gonna slip. The both of you weren't ready for a relationship. I mean, look at Gloria and me huh? She was my best friend and now, I can't stop thinking about the girl and we're together. See? Sometimes things work out," he said, standing up and grabbing his board.

"Charlie!"

The Charles twins turned around and Charlie smiled when she saw Melody dressed in a bikini running towards them.

"Whoa! Excuse me. Who's the sexy chick in the tight bikini screaming your name?" he asked, eying Melody like a piece of meat.

"Um, weren't you just talking about how much you cared about Gloria? Eyes to yourself please" she replied, shooing her brother away.

Dylan pouted but headed back towards the waves anyway. Melody walked over to Charlie and when she was close enough, tackled her to the ground.

Charlie stared at her in confusion as Melody straddled her and put her hands on her stomach.

"What are you doing Melody?" she asked, trying to sit up. "You tricked me! Why didn't you tell me you were a girl?" she pouted, looking down at her.

"I didn't trick you. You never asked. Plus, I thought you would have known" she replied nonchalantly.

"Well, I didn't" Melody said, sticking her tongue out at her. Charlie smirked at her. "So, are you gonna get up now or are you just making yourself comfortable?" she teased.

Melody blushed and quickly got off of her. "Sorry". Charlie just shrugged and picked up her board as they walked over to the ocean.

"Is that your brother?" she asked, watching as Dylan rode the waves before landing in the water. Charlie chuckled and looked over at her as the wind blew around Melody's hair.

"Want me to teach you?" she asked. Melody smiled at her and then nodded. They walked into the waters and Charlie laughed, making Melody glance at her in confusion.

"What?" she asked. "Were…were you flirting with me yesterday when you didn't know I was a girl?" Charlie said, smirking.

Melody opened her mouth to say something and then stopped. "Maybe, you'll never know though" she replied, running against the waves.

Charlie smiled and chased after the girl. "Hey! Come on slow down! Alexis!" she yelled joyfully. Melody stopped in her tracks and let the water hit her waist.

"Who's Alexis?" she asked, arching her eyebrows at her. Charlie ran her hand through her jet-black hair as the water ran against her body.

"Did I say Alexis? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that Melody" she sighed, walking past her.

"No, it's Ok. Who is she?" Melody pressed on. "Someone I lost" Charlie replied, looking over her shoulder at Melody. She gasped.

"She died? I'm sorry Charlie," she said. Charlie just shook her head and sighed. "Yeah…3 years ago actually. I never got a chance to say good bye to her," she mumbled, staring up at the sky.

"Did she mean a lot to you?" Melody asked. Charlie nodded. "Did you…love her?" she added. "I still do" she replied. Melody watched as Charlie pushed her board towards a wave and jumped on top of it, floating next to her brother.

"I wonder what she was like, the girl Charlie loves," she thought before joining the twins on the waves.

Beck's House

"You seem tense. What's wrong?"

"Nothing. Nothing's wrong. I can't invite my emotionally unstable friend over to play a montage of games with me"

"Well you can. You just seem a little…off"

"I'm fine, Lee. Don't worry. Did you see my Uncle and Aunt? They're leaving today and going back home"

"I heard. I saw Alexis too and Mandy"

"Yeah, she's been a pain".

"I bet…you sure you're alright?"

"Yup. I'm perfect".

And I'm lying.

Lee took off his snow jacket and we both watched as Alexis walked by, she turned around for a minute and stared at me.

"Do you think…do you think I'm attractive Lee?" she asked out of the blue.

Lee's eyes widened and so did mine. "Um…yeah. I guess. Where is this coming from?" he asked.

"I heard you and your girlfriend broke up awhile ago. Thought you might be interested in a quick jump on the bed, hmmm?" she replied bluntly.

Lee's jaw dropped and I quickly grabbed Alexis by her arm and pulled her over to the hall. "What the hell are you doing? You know Lee loves Jessie and why are you offering to have sex with him?" I yelled through clenched teeth.

"What? What does it matter? He fucked that one girl right? Your boss? Why wouldn't he go for me?" she shot back.

"Alexis, now is not the time and secondly, that is none of your business," I growled.

"For fuck's sake Becca, I was just asking. It's not like you two are fucking so calm down" she sighed.

"Wha…? What is wrong with you? What's going on in that brain of yours right now? Cause I have enough shit to deal with right now Alexis. I really do. I don't have time for you to be spazzing out so please, get it under control" I said, pulling away from me.

She grabbed my wrist and pulled me back towards her. "What about you Beck? Do you think I'm attracted? Hmmmm. Are you interested? Are you gonna run away from something good…that's standing right in front of you, daring you to love them like you know you do?" she asked, breaking down into tears.

"Alexis…" I sighed. I pulled her into my arms as she cried. Lee leaned against the door as I rubbed her back.

"Is she gonna be alright?" he whispered. I looked down at her and shrugged.

"You gonna be alright, Lexi?" I asked, kissing her forehead. She just shook her head and leaned against me. She mumbled something that I couldn't understand.

"What was that?" I asked, looking down at her.

"I…I wanna see her" she replied, sobbing. Lee arched his eyebrows and I ignored him.

"See who Lexi?" I asked. "I wanna see Charlie".

I stroked my hand through Alexis's hair as she slept. Things were starting to become difficult. I don't know why but…ever since Natalie and I got together, things have became…interesting, to say the least.

Alexis had asked Uncle Adam and Aunt Barbara if she could stay longer and even though Mandy was sad to be going back home alone, they agreed. I knew that the only reason Alexis wanted to stay was because she wanted to see Charlie again but something inside me was telling me to keep them apart.

Winter break ended next week and we had planned on going to Ocean City in 4 days, giving Alexis enough time to thoroughly clear her head.

I sighed and leaned back against the couch, Alexis lying on top of me. I heard a knock at the door and looked over my shoulder. "Come in!" I yelled, trying not to wake up Alexis. The door opened and I saw Natalie walk over to me.

I smiled instantly and she smiled back. "Hey gorgeous" I exclaimed. She laughed softly and ran her hand over my forehead and leaned down to kiss me. "Hey" she mumbled against my lips.

"Ah. Get a room".

We both looked down at my lap and saw Alexis stretching and slowly getting up. "Where's Lee?" she asked, her voice hoarse from sleep.

"We played games for a bit and then you feel asleep watching us" I replied. She nodded and then yawned. "My parents said 'yes' to letting me stay right?" she asked. I nodded again and Natalie frowned.

"Can you move so that I can sit on my girlfriend please?" she asked. I chuckled a bit and Alexis stood up. "Be my guest," she said, laying down in the chair across from us.

Natalie smiled and I opened my legs so that she could lean back against me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and leaned my head on her shoulder. "Did you talk to Lee?" she whispered.

"Not really. We just played Modern Warfare for a while and then just…talked. But not about Jessie. Jessie talk is strictly off limits around Lee lately" I said. "Did Jessie tell Mark?"

"She told Hope. Hope said the same things we pretty much did and I don't think Hope told Mark" I replied, kissing her shoulder. Natalie leaned back against me and sighed.

"So, we're going to meet Charlie on Sunday?" she asked Alexis. She nodded and stared at the floor. I could tell a million thoughts were going through her head right now. Possibly fear or maybe regret of ever letting Charlie go in the first place.

"I'm be lying if I said I wasn't afraid but…I just have to see her" she said. Natalie and I looked at each other before she climbed off of me and leaned against the couch.

"Then that's what we're gonna do" I said. Brandon ran down the steps smiling and quickly ran over to me.

"I wanna come!" he exclaimed. I arched my eyebrows at him. "What have I told you about ease dropping?" I groaned. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Can I please come?" he asked again.

"Brandon, it's not that kind of trip. We're just going to see an old friend. I can't be worried about you while we're down there…especially with some of the crap I'm going through right now" I replied.

Brandon pouted and Natalie put her hand on his head. "You can come next time Brandon," she said. "Alright. You better not forget Beck," he threatened before running outside.

I felt kind of bad about letting Brandon down but things were starting to spiral out of control. Between Rachael's advances, Jessie's pregnancy, and Alexis' need to rekindle an old relationship; I didn't have time to deal with him.

Natalie must have read my mind because she interlaced our fingers and smiled over at me.

"I'm gonna go upstairs Ok?" Alexis said, walking out the living room. I watched her go and pulled Natalie against me. She giggled and moved closer to me.

"When I'm with you…I feel all my worries drift away," I whispered, putting my arm around her waist. She ran her fingers over my arm and I felt goose bumps cover my body.

"I wish I could really make you feel better Beck," she whispered back. "Just you being here helps. Just staying here, just like this, I feel like everything is…" "Perfect?" she finished, looking over her shoulder at me.

I nodded and relaxed against her. "Yeah. Perfect" I replied. Things were quiet for a minute until Natalie spoke up again.

"Beck? Remember that favor I asked you for last night?" she asked. I nodded and her body went stiff. I stroked my hand against hers to reassure her.

"Will you come with me to L.A…to visit my mother?" she asked softly. I flipped us over so that I was in top of her and smiled. "Natalie…of course I would. That's not even a favor to me. Where you go, I go" I replied, pointing to my heart and then hers.

She smiled back and our lips quickly touched. "I love you," she whispered. I pressed myself closer to her and whispered back, "I love you too".

Charlie's House

"Charlie! This isn't going to work…"

"Just hold still for a minute. I'm almost there"

"It's taking you forever. Hahahaha! Stop. That tickles"

"Sorry Mel. I just couldn't help myself"

"Yes you could"

"Ok, I could but I didn't want. I promise you, as soon as I get there, you can move"

"I'm starting to feel sore"

"It's because we've been at this for a long time"

"Almost 2 hours"

"That's a new record for me"

"Unh! Please Charlie"

"Alright. Alright. Almost there…"

"What the hell is going on in here?"

Charlie and Melody glanced over at the twin Charles sibling and laughed. "Your sister is horrible at Twister. That's what's going on", Melody teased, poking Charlie's side.

She laughed and fell against the white plastic board. "You're a cheat!" Charlie growled, tickling Melody's sides. She squirmed away from her and get up, running towards the door.

"Oh no you don't!" Dylan yelled, running after her behind Charlie. They chased the girl around the house, ducking around furniture and moving chairs.

Melody hid behind the table and tried to get her breathing under control until she felt arms lifting her up in the arm. "Found her sis!" Dylan yelled.

"Dylan. No!" Melody laughed, feeling herself drop to the couch. Charlie ran towards them and they ambushed her with their hands.

"Ok! Ok you win!" she laughed. Charlie smiled at her and Dylan collapsed on the couch next to the girl.

"What are we gonna do when you leave tomorrow?" Dylan groaned. Charlie's smile fell from her face and she stared out the window.

Melody noticed Charlie's quick change in attitude and sat up. "I'll come back during the summer. I mean, this is my senior year. After that, I was going to ask your grandparents if they'd let me stay for the summer" she said quietly.

"Seriously? That would be awesome! Me, you, Charlie, and Gloria hanging out all summer would be epic!" Dylan exclaimed happily. Charlie smirked and sat down next to her.

"It would be pretty cool actually. I'm sure they'd be Ok with that" she said, almost in a whisper.

Melody smiled at her and ran her hand over her wrist. "A whole summer…with just me and you" she said.

Charlie smiled back at her and looked in her hazel brown eyes. Wishing she could read what the girl was thinking.

"I want this Alexis! I want this more than anything. I wish I could read your mind just so that I could tell you that you want this too!"

Charlie quickly shook her head and her emotions turned back into stone. "It's not safe getting close to people Danielle. You know that" she thought to herself.

She smoothly moved her arm away from Melody's and sighed. Melody frowned at this but she didn't let take it to heart. She knew Charlie was still hurting, especially since old wounds had opened about her 'dead' girlfriend.

She would slowly work her way into Charlie's heart. After all, they were both hurting in a similar way. "Just wait. She'll drop that force field soon" Dylan whispered into Melody's ear.

"I hope" Melody whispered back, staring into the bland green eyes of Danielle Charles.

Jessie's House

Jessie stared down at her cell phone, wondering if she could dial the number that her thumb was perched over. She had been debating over the thought for the past hour and it was driving her crazy.

Telling her parents terrified her but telling Lee made her wanna drop dead. "I love you so much and I know this is going to kill you but…Lee, I'm pregnant with Chase's baby," she said to herself before groaning and falling on her bed.

She placed her hands on her stomach and sighed. This child was going to complicate things. Things with Lee. Things with her parents. Things with her life.

Jessie growled and rolled over on her side. "Mommy is definitely going through right now," she whispered, rubbing her stomach in a slow circle. Jessie looked back at her cell phone and inhaled sharply.

"Here goes everything," she said to herself before hitting on the button "3" and putting her cell phone against her ear.

"Please don't hate me," she whispered, clinching her eyes tight and begging her tears not to fall. She listened to the dial tone and exhaled before the phone was answered.

"Hello?...Jessie?....Please say something I know it's you"

"Lee…"

"Jessie! Oh god, I'm so happy to hear from you. I'm so sorry Jessie. I was an idiot. I will never cheat on you again. I promise you just…just please take me back"

"I will…if you promise that you want me back after you hear what I have to say"

"No matter what it is Jess,"

"I don't think you'll be saying that after you hear what I have to say Lee"

"Then just tell me…please"

"Lee…I'm…I'm pregnant"

"…….."

"Lee? Lee, please say something"

"Is it Chase's?"

"…Yes"

"……."

"Lee?"

"Jessie. I'll call you back in a minute"

"Please Lee. I really need to hear something from you right now"

"I just can't handle this right now Jessie"

"Lee"

"No Jessica! I'm…I'll call you back".

The phone went dead and Jessie pulled her comforter over her body before letting the tears fall that she had been holding back.

"Lee…please forgive me".
