The Turning of Kaereni: By Kaereni and Sleeping Beauty

Cin sits at the table just sipping her wine, as if waiting for someone. She smiles at people passing by her table and watches as the patrons have their party. Earlier, that evening, she ran into someone who she had become acquainted with. Someone who reminded her of her old life, before coming to the city eight months ago, when she herself was still human. She had asked Kaereni to meet her at the inn for a drink and maybe a night out. Cin's green eyes keep looking towards the door every so often hoping to see her newly made friend.

Kaereni hurries down the road, her cloak pulled tight around her and hood up she looks like a thief in the night. Every so often, she stops and looks around thinking to herself, "it has to be here, somewhere." Ahead she sees lights coming from a building. She looks up through the gloom and sees the weathered sign, "The Black Rose Inn" She looks down at the piece of wet parchment in her hand, the letters though running and blurry seem to match the sign. Hurrying inside she shakes the damp off and throws the hood off exposing her flowing red hair. Looking around she sees a party or reception happening around her. Kaereni starts to back out and leave when she catches sight Cin sitting over at a table to the side alone. Standing there at the door, she fights an internal battle with her self, "Go or Stay" She had not been normally out going and the invite by Cin had surprised her. But at the time it seemed like a grand adventure, now though, she has her doubts.

Sipping wine, Cin almost thinks she made a mistake by asking Kaereni to meet her. Her eyes grow dim at being rejected, even in a friendship. Was she losing her touch or grip on things to think she was that unlovable or unfriendly? Taking one last look towards the door, she saw Kaereni enter and her life returned to her. She stands up and waves her over to her. "Kaereni... over here dear." She could tell how cold she is but hopes the fireplace will warm her up so they can enjoy themselves. She hugs Kaereni and smiles. "What would you like to drink? First round is on me." she winks and waits.

Sitting down, Kaereni hunches like a turtle, her head tucked and looking mostly down. She feels something but cannot put a finger to what is bothering her. Smiling weakly at Cin she says in a soft voice, "Ummm... what ever you’re having". Feeling the heat of the fire pulls some of the cold from her but still she feels chills, like someone is watching her. She looks around but no one is paying the slightest bit of attention to her. Turning back to Cin, she smiles weakly again and shrugs as if to excuse her jumpiness. "That wine your drinking looks nice.. May I?" she says reaching for the glass. Cin senses Kaereni being uncomfortable and hopes the wine will help.

Cin smiles. "Sure have a sip while I get you a glass." Cin goes to the bar and orders two more glasses of red wine. She is proud of herself, remembering what she learned in her wine lessons and got one of the best tasting wines for Kaereni to try. Coming back with then two glasses, Cin sits down and passes one to Kaereni. "There you go, honey. I hope you like it." Kaereni finishes the rest of Cin's glass as Cin reaches the table. The wine did warm her up and because she rarely drinks, starts feeling rather good as well. "Thanks for meeting me. I usually sit alone so it’s nice to have some company."

Kaereni takes the offered glass from Cin and smiles at her, "You? Sitting alone?" she gives a little laugh continues, "I cant believe that, what with all these people here."

"Yes well.... I do sit alone a lot. If I have a lover somewhere he or she needs to show themselves.” Cin lightly chuckled.

Kaereni takes a drink of the wine as if she were drinking juice. "I'm glad you invited me." The feelings of being watched fades, as she becomes more relaxed and comfortable with being in a public house at night. Glancing towards the party going on, she says, "What is happening here?"

Cin looks around and nods, "The black rose is hosting some wedding reception I believe. I personally don't know the bride and groom but many of the city do." She sighed. Love seems to be hiding or was it running from Cin. She turns around to face Kaereni and notices how she was gulping the wine. "Hey now slow down there.... not too much, take slower sips dear. Besides they have plenty here, trust me." Cin smiles at Kaereni, and her poorly made joke. Forgetting herself, Cin asks about food. It seems so long ago that she too needed to eat. Now she just needed to feed a different way. She wonders if Kaereni knows what she is. Should she tell her? Maybe later. Now she wants the company of the woman. "Are you hungry? I can get us some food, my treat."

Kaereni looks at Cin listening to her and only interrupts once, Leaning forward she says, "How do you know it is not bride and bride?" she giggles at the thought of two women standing beside one another in wedding dresses. She feels the beginnings of a pleasant buzz like when she is reading a great book and fully relaxes. Taking her cloak off Kaereni looks at the mostly empty glass before her and blushes. "Oh... I guess you can tell I don’t drink much." She smiles at Cin, "Perhaps later on the food. I ate before coming to meet you. But if you want to eat, please don’t let me stop you."

Cin smiles at Kaereni and her little joke of same sex. "No, I am pretty sure it is male female in there. If you like, maybe later we can go crash the reception to find out who is right." There was a twinkle in her eye as she suggested it, showing her curious side.

Kaereni takes the rebuke and nods to Cin, "I will if you will.” Cin nods at the comment of not drinking and watches the woman to make sure she does not over do it.

"I can wait.... maybe later. Would you like another drink then?” Her hunger was controlled and she would feed maybe after they left each other's company. And this time try and drink it slowly, enjoy the flavor of the wine." She hopes she is not sounding to forward about it and hates to think she is being pushy or snobbish. “So tell me about yourself, I know in the streets we never get a chance to talk cause I am always off doing errands and such.”

Kaereni suggests, “Let me get the wine. I believe it is my turn." Standing she takes her cloak and drapes the damp garment over the back of her chair. Leaning forward, she smiles owlishly and says, "Now no running off." Turning she goes up to the bar. Once she gets the attention of the man behind the bar she says, "A bottle of your best red wine please.” The man looks at her for a second and then goes into a back room coming back a few moments later carrying a slightly dusty bottle. He names a price that floors Kaereni. That was more then she had ever paid for a book, even more then ten books. She glances back at Cin sitting at the table watching her and back to him. Opening her coin purse, she counts out the money leaving her just a couple of dimes and a few pennies left. She looks at the bottle reminding herself to sip not gulp and with a false smile turns back to go to her new friend. Setting the bottle down she smiles, "There... that will save us a few trips." She looks at the Cin. "So where were we?"

"I hope that bottle did not replace paying a bill or something. I will be happy to split the cost of it with you, the least I can do." Cin asks as she opens the bottle and pours them both more wine. She is having a good time and hopes Kaereni is too. "I had just asked you to share about yourself. I shall start..." She thinks for a moment. “I moved here eight months ago from a big city. I was in college but decided to take a needed break. So how about you?" Sipping her wine, Cin waits to get to know her friend.

Waving off the offer for paying for half the bottle, Kaereni takes little sips of the wine. Thinking to her self, "You know this not half bad.” She nods as Cin talks and then says, "Well I always loved books. So I took out a loan and started a second hand bookstore.” She blushes, "It's not much, but it is all mine.” She sips again, "Two years now... I hope to break even any day now." she bites her lip thinking how she will be lucky to keep her beloved bookstore for another month with the way the sales are. Looking up to Cin, she gives a little laugh trying to make a joke of her position. "You should see it Cin. When you’re in there, the smell, the books... its like heaven on earth... so much to read..." she trails off realizing she is rambling

"It sounds...lovely, very lovely in fact, though I am not much of a reader. I can tell you are though. Maybe some word of mouth might pick business right up." Cin says smiling. "Are you open late in the evenings? Maybe one night after work, I can stop in?" She had not worked in a while not in the human sense anyways but Kaereni did not need to know that. Her loneliness was creeping in and as she looks on her new friend, she wonders what it would be like if she offers Kaereni what Serris had Cin. She sighs as she drinks her wine. Then says, "Hey lets go see what the reception is like, move around, maybe even dance." Cin’s clubbing day’s starts to come back to her in memory. This girl looks like she needs some fun away from a book.

Kaereni looks at her glass and takes a gulp forgetting to sip. "Open morning noon and night." she looks at Cin, "To save money I sleep in a cot in the back. If the inspector ever found out..." she rolls her eyes. Thinking to her self, who am I kidding, with the superstores why buy used when for a few bucks more you can buy new and throw away. She looks up hearing Cin's question. Looking at the reception, she feels her heart flutter. "Dance?" she asks in a small voice. "I don’t know how to dance." she says her face flushing deeply. She wants to run away and hide but something in Cin's look almost like begging makes her fill her glass and stand up, "Ok... lets find out if it is two brides or not."

"A girl after my own heart... gotta love your spirit." Cin smiles and takes Kaereni's hand and walks her into the hall where the party is. Cin is overwhelmed too, but tries hard to hide it from her friend.

The place is packed with people and a few frisky pups. Kaereni says to Cin as they walk, "some real dog lovers to bring them to a wedding." Even though she is nervous all the way to her toes Kaereni feels a certain amount of safety with Cin there with her. While they walk Kaereni drinks her wine quickly to keep from spilling it on someone or on herself.

"Just what I thought, boy girl. Too bad we didn't make a bet, lucky for you.” Cin chuckles.

Kaereni looks towards the bride and groom, "they do make a nice couple don’t they. That’s what you get for not betting. You could have won a bite" she laughs at her joke.

Cin squeezes Kaereni's hand feeling her nervousness and understood. "Its ok dear, no one is going to bite... unless you want them to." again trying to a joke to relax her. If Kaereni only knew how true it was though. "Lets check out the eats.... can't pass up free food, can we?" She walks them over to the buffet table. All of it looking mighty tasty, but not for human consumption. For a moment Cin forgot where they were, this was not your normal human setting. She thought for a moment and then nodded to herself. "Hey listen, I got a better idea, I think if we ask we can get fresher stuff if you want to munch on something, and a room incase one of us falls asleep from too much drinking. Sound like a plan?"

She nods at Cin, "Yes food would be good, or crackers or punch or something" She looks at the table and her tummy does a back flip. "On the other hand..." Kaereni spies a punch bowl and crystal punch glasses with red punch in them further down the table. Turning to Cin, "Yes... a room would be fine... we can... less crowded... could you... and I wait here." her words coming out in a jumble partly from the wine and partly from having more people around her then she is used to.

“Then I shall be right back.” Cin darts off to make the arrangements.

Kaereni watches as Cin goes off in search of a room. She is tipsier then she had realized till she stood up. That wine really had a kick and didn’t make her feel all that wonderful now. She turns to the table and notices the punch once more. She moves down and takes a small glass of it and turning sees Cin walking back towards where they were standing. She raises the glass and takes a drink. The coppery taste stops her cold. Oh god what to do she thinks as Cin sees her and heads over. Turning around she spits it back into the glass and sets it hurriedly back on the table. She wants to grab a napkin and scrape her tongue and mouth clean but instead turns back and puts a smile on her face. Picking up her empty wine glass, Kaereni stands there trying to smile as Cin walks over to her. No matter what she is not going to embarrass her friend.

After flagging down one of the owners to get a room Cin stands by Kaereni and sees her there looking a bit tipsy. She smiles at her and smells the scent of blood. Cin notices a small droplet of blood punch on Kaereni's bottom lip. Her eyes get big for a second in worry and fear. Then she takes a napkin and wipes off Kaereni's lip. "I see you tried the punch." She hopes that it was not too much for her and she is going to leave now. Things are still enjoyable. "I got us a room and a meal, do you want to go back to the table by the wall or stay here? It is up to you. I'm easy." Cin smiles at Kaereni trying to ease any tension the punch may have caused her. Seeing Kaereni nod, Cin takes her hand, guides her to the table, and then finds some cake.

Sitting at their table, Kaereni waits till Cin walks off again. Pouring a full glass of wine, she takes a big sip and swishes it around her mouth. She looks around for a place to spit it out and realizes there is nowhere. Seeing Cin walking back carrying two pieces of wedding cake, she hurriedly swallows. As Cin sets the cake down, she looks around and then back to Cin. In a low voice she says, "Cin... Do you believe in vampires? You know... like in the books?" She makes a motion with her head towards the reception, "I think, well, that punch..." She makes motions with her eyebrows. She leans forward, her eyes bright from the wine, "do you think ... are they real?" The last almost whispered.

Cin takes a drink of her wine before she speaks. "Could it be just a joke? The punch... a bad joke at that." She tries to pass of the punch as a joke but by the look in Kaereni’s eye, it was failing. She looks at Kaereni with her green eyes, focuses, and speaks the truth. "I think even the myths are founded in a little fact. So yes, I do believe they exist...but not like the movies or books... not entirely." She turns to look at the reception and the table where the punch was.

Kaereni looks over towards the hall and listens to Cin's answer. Hearing the idea of a practical joke, she shakes her head a little. "Not at a wedding... a party, yes, but at a wedding? I don’t think so." She flashes back on Cin's joke "no one will bite. Unless you ask them to" and looks quickly at Cin. Her eyes get big, "You knew when we walked in." she says in a low whisper. Looking around again she leans in and says even softer voicing her only question now, "are you…?" she trails off not finishing the question. She looks intently into Cin's green eyes. Dare she say more, she wonders. What if she is wrong what if Cin thinks she is crazy stops talking to her? All these thoughts flit through her mind. Worry that she could be wrong. Worry that she could be right in her assumptions.

Cin slowly nods, "Yes, I knew coming in.” She senses Kaereni’s fear and excitement, and all the range of emotions she was feeling. Cin feels the same way. How was she going to tell Kaereni the truth, what will happen to her new friendship? And how would Kaereni react when she heard Cin was indeed undead. "Its getting crowded in here lets go up to the room to talk about this more. I would like to help you with your...curiosity Kaereni." She holds out her hand to the woman and grabs her glass of wine. Her mind is forming the words to explain things, hoping she is not breaking some vampire code or something by revealing what she was. "Come with me my dear... please." Cin gets up and waits for Kaereni.

Kaereni looks up at Cin and smiles her eyes bright. Standing she picks up her glass and the bottle in one hand and takes Cin's with the other. "You could not get rid of me now with a stick. Lead on McDuff." she says following Cin up to a room. The excitement of the moment of the night causes Kaereni’s spirit to soar. Never before did she have such a wonderful time. Just imagine… vampires and things that go bump in the night are real. She has rubbed shoulders with them and not known it. Her heart beating so hard with the excitement she feels faint.

Cin takes Kaereni to the room and to her surprise, how well she is taking the idea. Kind of reminds Cin, of herself, when she came to the city and discovered the secret. It makes her smile and semi relax but not take away her own fears. Once at the room, she unlocks it and opens the door, leading Kaereni inside. She sits down across from her and sighs a bit. "What if I said, they are indeed very real and that I was one? What if I said that I drink blood and sleep during the day and there is some truth to all the spun tales you have heard or read?" Cin looks at Kaereni worriedly. "I am a creature of the night, I was human like you and got offered a chance for life eternal. I chose this... many have not." She studies Kaereni as she talks. "My story is simple and not really romantic, I wasn't swept off my feet by some handsome guy and made love to like in those romance horror novels. No, nothing like that... though I wish maybe." Cin chuckles reflecting back. "I live, but I am not a monster." Cin looks to see if she understands.

Kaereni listens intently to Cin’s words nodding everything about her friend falling into place. The only seeing her at night, not eating, wanting to visit the store late at night. A giggle bursts from her lips, "no really... If you do not know any Cin that’s ok. You really had me going there for a moment." She giggles some more. It was all a prank and she fell hook line and sinker. Looking around she says, "so where is the camera?" She looks at Cin seeing the look on her face, "no camera?" She sees Cin shake her head. “No camera? And you are... they are..." Kaereni’s words falter. A look of longing crosses her face but still there is fear there. She swallows and places her hand on Cin's hand covering it, "You are not a monster Cin"

Cin looks into her eyes and sighs. "Thank you but some times I wonder. I knew going into this what I was getting into, like you I believed and read and thought I knew it all about vampires. What the books don't tell you or express is how lonely this life is and how things are not all glamorous." She lets out another sigh and took a long sip of her wine to finish it. " When I came here I was very much like you. One day about three weeks in the city, I met someone named Serris who is now my sister. One night, she was on the roof of one of the pubs and she lost her footing trying to do something and was going to fall. I ran up to the roof and helped her, saving her life. My reward for my deed was money or this. You know the choice I made as you can see. Cin smiles now a bit so her fangs now showed a bit. Would I do it over... probably but the money would have come in handy then too but I did not know enough that I was going to need it while here. Silly me..." Cin lightly laughs and wonders still if Kaereni understood.

Kaereni listens to Cin's words and thinks for a moment. She could not come up with anything to say to it till she remembers something she said at the start of the story. She knows she has to choose her words carefully and closes her eyes to think as she holds up a hand. Once her thoughts were in order she opens her eyes and stared into Cin's eyes. "You said your life is lonely. But if there is a friend who was also a vampire, then you would no longer have to walk alone. There would be someone who is a friend before and would be still a friend afterwards." She looks down breaking eye contact suddenly unsure of herself. She swallows hard and looks up at Cin feeling tears brim and spill from her eyes. She says softly, "I could be that friend..." She bites her lip but holds Cin's eyes with hers not wiping them away.

Cin watches her as she offers herself to her. Cin longs for a companion and a friend that would be around with her. But love had been unavailable to her and it was not something she would do for someone else, just to be with them for she knew what it meant and how hard it was to live this life. She reaches up to wipe away Kaereni's tears and hold her face within her hands. "I came here in a search for someone I met, but never found that person. Instead, I found my maker and sister, Serris, who I would not trade for anything. What you are asking is not like what Brad Pitt does in Interview with a vampire sweetie. Please know what you ask." She takes a deep breath looking into Kaereni”s eyes. "No more sunlight, no more food, no more family or friends that will be there for you, watching those you love get old and die as you stay timeless more or less.... its not all a picnic love... it really isn't. I thought I knew and understood what it meant, and found out different. So, please if you are serious about this make sure you understand. For once I do it, it can not be undone." Cin softly smiles, knowing the kind gesture her friend was trying to make. "Do you really truly want this? Do you understand fully? Do you get that even if you are like me you may not be accepted by some of my kind? Can you handle it all?"

Kaereni looks down and then back at Cin, "I know I will not end up spending my days alone in a bookshop that never sells any books. I know I will not see my old friends anymore because frankly I don’t see them now. I know all about loneliness. I have been living it for two years now." She takes a pause and then swallowing, gathering her courage says, "I want to walk beside you, as your friend, as your sister." The tone of Kaereni’s voice, rising in a question on the word sister, as if to ask if that is the right word to use. She looks down again and looks at the floor, "Must I beg Cin?" she looks up her tears flowing freely and says with a sniffle, "Please, let me walk the night with you. Take me … please"

Cin sighs for she was scared. She is not prepared for this, but saw how Kaereni was and could not resist taking her into her arms to hold and rock back and forth to comfort her. She feels her love, one of a good and true friend and one of a sister. She should ask Serris before doing this but the desperate tones of Kaereni and her own heart wanting someone to call her own as Serris did her just overwhelms her and she decides to do it and pay for it later. She hopes that if it wasn't what Kaereni thought or hoped, that she would be forgiven. Cin holds her and caresses her trying to make her feel good. She did not want it to be an awful experience for Kaereni. Her own bi curious nature took over and she explores Kaereni’s body and kissed her neck as she did so. Her hands roam the woman’s body exciting it as much as she could to give her the pleasure before the bite. In her ear Cin whispers, "For you dear one” before kissing her neck and baring her fangs to sink in her skin where she had kissed it.

Kaereni wraps her arms around Cin her head tilted to allow her easy access. Hands rubbing up and down she thinks to her self, "I will not fight. I will not struggle" waiting the first touch, the first bite. She did not know what to expect. From the books, it seems painful beyond anything. Instead of pain she feels pleasure from Cin’s gentle caresses. Her hands move of their own accord touching and caressing back. Her friend was reluctant to start with and she didn’t want Cin feeling any worse. A random thought goes through her mind as she feels the kiss on her neck and Cin's soft words on her ear, “heck of a night out.” I should do this more often. She moans softly as her hands wrap around Cin's back. She says, "I am ready. Take me, make me yours."

With Kaereni's final words, Cin quickly bite down on her neck and sinks deep her fangs into the vessels that carried her blood. It is sweet to the taste and gives her a rush that she so loved. Closing her own eyes, as she drinks deeply, trying to be as gentle as she could, Cin still tries to pleasure Kaereni. The blood moving past her mouth into her throat, Cin could feel the power of life itself. She had flashes of Serris and her own turning as she keeps drinking. She holds onto Kaereni while she gets her fill and then draining her of all she knows as life with every drop of blood passing between them.

Kaereni feels the bite, her back arches and nails dig into Cin's back. Even though she thought she knew what to expect the pain was far beyond anything she could imagine. Her mind hit an overload point, part feeling the pleasure of the vampire's caresses and part with the pain from the bite itself. She lets out a low moan, of mixed pleasure and pain and grips Cin hard. One hand moves up to hold Cin's head to her neck in fear that she would stop and holds her head there. She feels her world graying out, as her vision everything both inside and outside turning fuzzy. The only thing that matters is her friend, her soon to be sister, taking her and giving her what she has always dreamed would be real.

Cin feed as long as she could, without killing Kaereni. The longer she drinks, the more difficult it is to know when she should pull back. She needs Kaereni to be able to drink from her also. She keeps up the caresses to distract Kaereni and promote pleasure even when she senses her friend could not longer feel it. Her mouth was hungry for the sweetness of her friend and hopes it is going okay. Cin worries she is doing something wrong, for this was her first turning of another. Cin gently let up and when she feels Kaereni become almost limp. She licks off the blood from the woman's shoulder and neck and whispers into her ear hoping she could hear her. "Time for you to take of me, darling." She bites her wrist and put it to the woman's mouth. "Drink Kaereni..." Cin says pushing her wrist to her mouth. "Drink"

Kaereni tastes Cin's blood weakly, her senses dull. Unlike the vile coppery taste of the blood before this tastes different. At first, she just swallows but as more enters her body she starts sucking on it hungrily, her hand holding Cin's wrist to her mouth. It was as if she had been in a desert parched and without water for days and the blood was a spring that revitalized her. The more she sucks, the better it tastes and she feels the life from the small wound. Trying to bite and chew it bigger, in her frustration, Kaereni sucks greedily. In a part of her mind, she feels Cin's tender caresses and as the strength comes back to her, her free hand reaches out to touch Cin's body. Her eyes locks on her friend's compassionate green eyes as she tries to say thank you with her look and touch.

Seeing just how hungry Kaereni is, Cin pulls her wrist away knowing she needs more blood. She gently pulls her wrist again and squeezes some in one of the wine glasses for her. The taking blood was the easy part. Cin forgot about what comes after, the death of the body completely. At least she would be here for Kaereni and not left to die alone like others she heard of. She gives the glass to her and watches her drink it all. Then she looks at her, “Kaereni... that was just part of it, you are of my blood now but you still need to die. Your physical body will change and it will be painful. I am sorry for that dear one." She moves to hold Kaereni and wait for it.

Kaereni takes the glass and looks at it before bringing it to her lips. So strong is her hunger that she wants to gulp it down and lick it clean. But, instead, she takes little sips trying to savor the taste. That was not so bad she thinks to herself as she finishes the blood. Hearing Cin's words and how Cin moves to hold her tightly she asks, "what do you…", when she feels a crushing pain in her chest and her head feels like it is about to explode. Her arms fly out apart and the wine glass flies from her fingers hitting the wall and shatters. She has only thought she felt pain before. If it were not for Cin's strong hold, she would be flipping backwards off the chair. Her back arching, arms and legs twitching, she feels her body dying. She lets out a scream as the death spreads through her body and ending in her skull like liquid fire. Her breaths are ragged and she screams the death cry of a mortally wounded animal. For her, nothing exists except the pain. She hears her friend’s words but they are meaningless. Her world is nothing but red hot pain. As quickly as it came, the pain ends, the world is black and she falls limply in Cin's arms.

Cin looks at Kaereni as she asks her question and it seems that pain came too quickly. She tries to hold on and support her but not restrict her movements. It is a long and drawn out process, full of pain and fear. She remembers her own death. Serris was there for her, but not like she is for Kaereni. Cin promised herself that if she ever turned someone it would not be like it was for her. It was hard to watch or relive, but still necessary. She cries tears of blood watching Kaereni thrash about and scream in pain. She keeps says, "I'm sorry dear one" and "it’s gonna be okay." Saying it over, for comfort, knowing it was not enough. Cin does back off to let Kaereni have the room she needed but was close enough to be something constant in her death. When Kaereni finally goes limp, Cin moves to pick her up and lay her on the bed and lies with her. "Sleep now dear one, for when you wake you will be mine forever." She sat stroking her face and hair, and kissed her on the forehead and waits.

Kaereni comes back from the darkness and draws a breath, ragged and deep. Opening her eyes, she sees Cin there lying on the bed with her. Her hand comes up and wipes at one of the bloody tears that still stain Cin's face and says weakly, "You’re crying..." Wrapping her arm around Cin, she pulls her close hugging her tightly. In a rough whisper she says softly to Cin, "Thank you... My friend.. my sister" and hugs her tight once more. She looks into Cin's green eyes just inches from her own and kisses her. "Forever" she whispers and then smiles weakly.

Cin looks down at Kaereni, "I was crying." She hugs her and then says after the kiss, "I hope it’s everything you want it to be and more."

Kaereni says, "I am sure it will be... with you beside me." She sits up and looks around noticing the broken glass. "Did I do that?” She looks down and says in a small voice, "Sorry."

Cin smiles at Kaereni and nods, "I am much more than a friend, I am your sire... You will learn and I will teach you and together we shall grow." She follows her gaze to the broken glass and chuckles. 'Yes dear you did, no worries you could not help yourself. It will be taken care of as I will take care of you from now on."

Cin snuggles with her and saying, “Rest now.”
