A man and his daughter drive into a massive meteor shower that disrupts their lives, but it’s only the beginning. It’s the beginning of the end, or is it? An Apocalyptic tale that focuses on individuals trying to maintain love, hope and family amongst death and dying. Hopefully it’s not overly negative, with a lot of humor and positive emotions, but there is a lot of death in it.
Now that the story is finished, I’ve realized that it’s much darker than I’d originally intended. While I’ve warned everyone that there would be a lot of death in this story as the plague begins to overtake people, I ended up giving it a bigger role in story than I’d planned.
As such, you should be warned that if you’re uncomfortable seeing your favorite characters being killed, you may want to consider how you chose to read the rest of this story. If you feel uncomfortable with it, waiting until it’s finished and reading it all at once might be better than plowing through it each week, as then you’d only be dealing with the depressing topics at one time.
Overall, though, I’m still proud of the work, and I think that you’ll enjoy it if you see it through. Because the characters were so richly developed, I decided they each deserved their own final moments, so each death is focused on much more than I’d originally planned.
Chapter 01: There Wasn’t a Cloud in the Sky - The Sky Falls.

Chapter 07: Helping the Community - After storm activities.
Chapter 08: The Plot Thickens - You never know what’s going to go wrong next.
Chapter 09: The Rest of the Week, or Shared Experiences - You just can’t keep secrets in a house full of women.
Chapter 10: A Good Teasing Scrubs the Soul Clean - The teasing continues even as David asks permission for something he’s sure about.
Chapter 11: Making Plans - David finally agrees to what he’d been avoiding doing.
Chapter 12: A Lot Left Unsaid - A lot develops suddenly, but finally everyone has to face reality.
Chapter 13: A Few Theories, a Few Potential Explanations - Finally, an explantion!
Chapter 14: As If Life Wasn’t Depressing Enough Already - Good help and some bad news for the Scott clan.
Chapter 15: Moving Away from Bleak - Things get even worse than they were.
Chapter 16: Some Unsettling News - The bad news is personal this time.
Chapter 17: Lawyers Guns and Money (without the dangerous one) - Things heat up as they run into an armed attack.
Chapter 18: Death Comes Calling - David tries his hand at emotional support.
Chapter 19: The Plague Hits Home - As everyone adjust to Frank’s death, the trials of the outside world edge closer.
Chapter 20: Honor, or Desperation? - Disaster strikes a little closer to home.
Chapter 21: An Unusual Eulogy - In the face of increased disease and violence, David goes looking for trouble.
Chapter 22: And the Shit Rolleth Forth - Another gunfight, and more troubles afterwards.
Chapter 23: And Then There Were... - The deaths, and the surprises, continue.
Chapter 24: Final Stand - This is it, the end of the line. Everyone will either live or die from here.
Chapter 25: Epilogue - The End, and what’s left, if anything.
Well, you’ve got to admit, I warned you. Was it as dark as I’d intimated? Luckily, the sequel, already being written, isn’t nearly as depressing. I’d wanted to write about what none of the other PA writers seemed to be willing to do—though they probably had a very good reason for their decisions.
Now that I have, I found that having gone through that process, a sequel now presents a new opportunity to express yet a new view on an familiar genre, one which I plan on exploring in "The Great Death 2: Grappling with Survival".
