Chris Hailey's stories | Guest authors | Contact the author

A brief history.

While I'm a newcomer to this site, I have posted previously under the same name as far back as 2011 on an offshoot of ASSTR known as Loliwood, therefore any readers offering encouragement and thinking I might improve could well be disappointed. My appearance has been intermittent in part due to my lack of skills when it comes to internet posting.

I had an all to brief spell as a guest on Tempest's website during 2020, but due to his sad demise early in 2021 we see the passing of another respected author. This loss to our own literary community also made all his guest authors, including myself homeless.

While Chris has kindly offered to host some of my work, including my back catalogue, this may take some while due to the time and dedication it takes to run and maintain his site. He recognised my name from the old days and asked how I chose it – The answer's fairly simple, I write very slowly, and my plots are slow to develop.

I'm a most unlikely author - a Dyslexic person! (why is dyslexia so difficult to spell?)

Back in 2011 I'd become disillusioned with the way a number of authors posted stories in a barely literate format. Previously after downloading stories I'd find poor grammar, awful spelling (yes worse than me), plus hosts of other errors could make even fairly reasonable stories almost unreadable.

This writing hobby of mine came about by accident, a sort of challenge to myself that I could do better than the sloppy writers and craft erotic fiction which wasn't jarring to read, and where the storyline wasn't too outrageous. Okay I accept there is an audience for the 'stroke-story' in common with some short porn films with a plot entirely subservient to any action sequence. That format has an audience, but my aim is to provide some context and perhaps some lead-in towards the participants having believable encounters. A hunk just coming to the door then greeted by a bimbo in a negligee feeling desperately horny isn't a plot line, it simply being lazy, and unimaginative.

Regardless of those problems I have with spelling words, (thanks Ctrl-F7, yes I know its a thesaurus) I am a voracious reader across numerous different genres, and this can often be reflected within my own writings.

That said my thoughts when I put Quill to Parchment was to overcome set stereotypes by considering issues from less explored avenues, rather than those of the mass-media which reflected only one point of view. It is said the past is a different country, in that we have a distorted perspective when looking at historical events through a glass clouded by today's supposed moral and cultural values.

I believe we have a similar problem today with cross cultural issues, where we can be so blinkered to viewpoints other than those promoted by the society within which we live.

I often attempt to write stories that look at situations from an alternative prospective, then try to include the viewpoint of those other than the main protagonists in order to see how the plot is seen from different angles by additional characters. Obviously I don't condone or endorse any activities in works of fiction that depict breaching the law, but these are simply the wanderings of the imaginative mind for entertainment only.

My scratchings vary in length quite considerably with fewer stories at the shorter end of the spectrum, starting at less than three pages, with others reaching epic proportions that need to be read as an ongoing serial, so I hope readers here would find that acceptable.

*Spoiler Alert* Some of my erotic stories contain no-sex! Shock horror.

I thought it best to warn potential readers from the outset, rather than receive a barrage of complaints that my scribblings don't belong on an erotic story website. Firstly they are stories, secondly they have aspects within the entire narrative that make them unwelcome on plain vanilla story sites. Sometimes it's a little frisson of the 'unacceptable' while some scratchings are sprinkled through with scantily dressed nymphets, though the sex scenes may be few and far between, the eroticism is a fundamental element.

On the dusty shelving of my scriptorium there are a couple of 'thought experiments' those stories where the main protagonists question the status quo. Another of my much longer scrolls imagines the life of a young model, and sister starlets from a massive photographic studio having an eventual sad demise due to outside interference. That story was partially posted previously on a web-site that closed several years ago, those readers left hanging. It's available as posted instalments if there is any demand. Warning it is incredibly slow, it is dear to me like a first-born being my earliest faltering attempt at writing.

Feeling really bad about those fictional characters having their lives trashed from fictional outside agencies, I then wrote a much darker follow-on story full of love, pathos, intrigue and eventual fitting revenge as the baddies get their comeuppance at the remote direction of one of those former models. Within that tome we catch glimpses of characters from the previous story, learning how they've moved on with their lives since the Studio raid.

All the rubbish I write is of course make believe, as a novice I'm not in control, different players will come to the foreground then fade back as each drama moves forwards, and as I said many stories are slow off the blocks allowing for character and plot development. Numerous stories have narratives with sexual and sensual themes that are not considered mainstream, therefore I've been off-grid for some time as the lower age limit for fictional characters on most well known sites is fourteen. While my stories may feature characters of various ages involved in sensual activities, they aren't necessarily having rampant sex.

Primarily I mix ink and scratch parchment for my own amusement, starting with an idea I follow to see where it leads. If along the way a few other people could find entertainment then my efforts shall not have been in vain.

My stories are merely stories, they alter in pace, and wander off in strange directions at the whim of the characters themselves, the sexual or sensual overtones are purely just one facet, and not necessarily the controlling element of any particular story.

W 05/27/2021 I agree that writing in clear and grammatically correct sentences is a loss art. Especially on internet sites for this genre.

I savor stories of plausible scenarios that are not found elsewhere.
